Freixenet 2013 Vintage Especial Reduced to £3.75 from £14.99 Tesco (In Store) Middleton, Manchester.

The grapes for this special vintage are carefully selected from our choice vineyards in the mountain villages south and west of Barcelona. Here the high altitude and cool climate provide the perfect growing conditions which enable us to achieve a balance of fresh fruity aromas, and crisp, elegant acidity.
The local Parellada grape stands out, contributing wonderful Mediterranean flavours of melon, apricot and peach. Long and careful bottle maturation gives a fine, persistent sparkle, which lingers pleasingly in the glass and on the palate.

There was a time back in the late 70s when Cava in Spain was cheaper to buy than bottled water ! How did it ever get to a similar price of cheaper Champagne?

Only hot if there is ANY to be found. Anywhere, at this price.
Since there is now none in the specific store where the deal was said to exist, it makes me think of unicorn hunting and wild Tesco chasing ...

they did have it in Ludlow but was sold out when we went..label still on shelf at time.
