Tried that on 2 sim cards, doesn't work. You can however call EE and ask them to cancel the talk and text pack and they'll manually put the £1 back on the sim card. But no, despite numerous people saying the 'STOP PACK' works, it really doesn't... for me it just stops the pack for the next month but doesn't apply for the existing. Maybe i have some new updated sim packs.
Plus anyway i was referring to the OPS title which read that its a £5 top up, which it isn't. Its £4 (or £5) preloaded on a sim card.
BarmyBulldog
10 Feb 162#11
No there is a big difference between a topup and a preloaded sim. A topup is for an existing number this is for a new sim, as such the deal was misleading hence the need to change the title.
Super18
10 Feb 16#12
I've said "Exactly"that's because you will get £5 credit and not a £4 if you send a text to 150 and write "Stop pack". I know thereally is a big differences between a top up and a credit that's why I've requested above to change the title.

Every time i get the sim and text "STOP PACK" I get £5 also.
bertiebasset
10 Feb 16#14
This is quite correct. Text "Stop pack" to 150, then answer "YES" when you get a text asking you to confirm.
However, make sure you have turned off data before inserting the new SIM, or it could immediately start taking data from the default £1 plan before you had chance to stop it.
This is probably what's happening to any who don't end up getting their full £5 allowance.

Does anyone know if i can use the £5 credit to donate it via sms to my local dog rescue centre?
CuddlesTC to Kevo2k7
11 Feb 161#40
Yes - I've been using them to sponsor a friend who's running the London marathon for charity.
Oh, that might be what happened to me then; I've had 6 of these over the last couple of weeks, and STOP PACK worked on the first 4, but not the last two, so maybe I'd left data switched on.

I was thinking the same but wouldn't texting in to topup use some of the credit?
Therefore leaving you with just about not enough credit to topup.
Unless you could do an Orange style micro topup.
#if Sony no longer charge the price of a text to topup or if EE give you a few free texts then you could get away with it.

Nope, data OFF, 4G OFF. Insert sim and text 'STOP PACK' right away, then reply to the sms received with 'YES' but the £1 has always been taken. It has happened twice with the latest EE sims received this week.

Dear Super18.
I am very interested in this as I have Handset locked to EE. If you could direct me how to do that, or have nay link, it will be very useful.
thanks
Well I have tried more than a dozen. Text to 150 STOP PACK. I got all of them £5.00. The important thing to notice here is that, you will need to use an old non-smart phone which does not have internet connection.

So, what can we do with the £4 other than call/text/data, etc?

What you can do is just follow the instructions below and hopefully you'll get it.
1)put that on google: ee unlock phone online
2) Click on the: Unlocking your device| help ee
3) You will be redirected to the unlocking page info so then just click on the link: filling in our online form.
4) You'll get the question: What type of plan do you have with us? Select PAYG,PAYM or Sim only. If you click on the PAYG then you will get this..
5)Do you have enough credit to pay the £8.99 (incl VAT) admin fee? Click yes or no.
6) After clicking yes or not then you will be transferred to the ( your details page). Just follow the instructions and I hope you will be fine.

I'm pretty positive that it doesn't work, I've tried before, it charges you £5 + 10p, so unless they still allow you to top up by £1.10 from a payzone still, it wouldn't work.

I don't think it'll work so well, you can only use 3 numbers every 30 days on PSN to top up. Try this one if it you don't mind waiting 2-3 weeks, it will cost you £10 for £30 PSN credit and possibly an extra £5 with TCB.

I've done it on a few sims, are you making sure data is off and texting stop pack to 150 as soon as you put the sim in a turn the phone on? I think if you don't do it within 5 minutes it may self activate the £1 pack.

Thanks. Appreciate that.but how to unlock it using this simcard if, you will need enough credit to pay the £8.99 (incl VAT) admin fee while this one only have £5 credit ?
Top up £5 first (or £10 if £5 top up is not allowed) ?. Well this is actually what I am trying to avoid, as I am just worried if the unlock process is not successful I will be loosing £5 ..
Is there any way to combine the credit from several simcard ??

Is there anyway to combine 2 sim card credit into one sim-card to get £10 ?
The reason why I am asking as I want to unlock my Mobile which is locked to EE.
For unlock EE will need £8.99 (incl VAT) admin fee while this one only have £5 credit. So two Simcard with £5 each to be combined into one simcard will produce £10 ?
Is there anyway of doing this ??
thanks

People have been using these to top up to PSN for some time now.
It costs £2 to get £5 credit (so 60% off)
1) Buy this sim for £1, you get £5 credit
2) Buy a £1 top up voucher from an EE store and top it up, giving you £6 credit
3) Top up £5 to PSN. To do this costs a text message at standard network charge which is 10p (which is why you need that £1 top up voucher)
The problem is stroppy staff at EE acting like they are not paid enough to not worry about the efficiency of printing off £1 top-up vouchers for you.

Dont forget you can also use these on Google Play without any of the hassel involved in topping up to PSN.

If you make an account online and register a card to it, you can then top up by text - and you can top up by just £1 that way which would save you going to a shop for a voucher.

It says the minimum for top up is £5
Text the following to 150:
The letters CR
The last four digits of your registered credit or debit card number
The amount you want to top up (between £5 and £95)
The three-digit security code on your card (or four if it's an AmEx card)

anyone heard that ee are giving 10gb free data on their payg sims if you top up £10?

Odd, I've definitely done it at least 3 times. I stopped packs, topped up by £1 using the CRxxxx 1 yyy format as above, then used the £1 Talk and Text pack for a week when needed. It definitely worked. I did it all via texts to 150, starting with HELP I think. I know online you can only top up by at least £5 but texting does/can work.

Anyone had any luck with getting the mobile billing to work in the Play Store?
I've removed all my old EE SIMs that I bought over 3 months ago (which worked before)
What I'm doing is Google Play > My Account > Add payment method > Use Mobile billing but then it just displays "Verifying account - Sending account verification SMS to your mobile service provider" before producing "Error - The account verification SMS could not be sent. Please try again."
Weird as it worked with my last 2 SIMs but not these two...
