I've done exactly this on two sims and can confirm that my online account confirms that I have £5 credit on each.

My trouble was that I went and bloody lost the first sim!! :confused:

idk what phone you have but turn off mobile data before inserting the sim. Then text stop pack. Then reply yes to confirm. THEN you can turn on mobile data without -£1

How do you cancel the pack without connecting to the mobile network? I've wasted 2 sims figuring this out but the help/info/guides people have posted DO NOT work.

You HAVE to insert the sim.
When you text 'STOP PACK' then wait for the text from ee then reply 'YES', it simply stops the £1 charge for NEXT month NOT the existing month. So just to clarify from what i have figured using 2 sim cards, THE SECOND you insert the sim in a phone the £1 is deducted. How on earth is everyone getting around this???? am i totally missing a vital step out that nobody is mentioning?

If u connect to 4G without canceling the pack first it will deduct £1 of credit and give you the pack. So if u want to keep the credit then cancel the pack first.

Can i buy 2 of these and transfer one to another and use the one with £10 credit to unlock my iphone 6?

I bought more than a dozen of them last year from 99p.. I just activated a few of them by texting “STOP PACK” to 150. On the Package it is written to be activated until July 2016. A few weeks a go I tried to activated a few more and I got a message “barred” and I still have more than a dozen of them.

Is there anyway how I could activate or use my credit on this case? I mainly use this credit to access mobile internet while traveling to EU countries as in the UK my monthly contract cover all of my needs.

I try not to loose another £12 again. If I buy a new one like this, is there any way to prevent this thing to happen again? Someone has mentioned to activate £5 credit as soon as it arrives as the credit never expires. Could someone else who have tried it please share their experience.
Any info on this will be very much appreciated.

Switch to the 7 day data pack I guess. 10mins, 10 txt and 100Mb data for £1 a week

My phone is locked to EE and I want them to unlock it but don't have an account with them.I am hoping that this route will cost me £6 for the first phone and allow me to unlock a couple of phones that I have.

You'll need to unlock your phone before you can register it with the EE sim.
Once unlocked, yeah, just text STOP PACK and then reply YES to the confirmation message. You'll then have £5 credit.

Can I top up £5 on this and unlock my phone so it costs £6. Thanks.

Btw that's if you use the £1 data pack, which I don't think has been mentioned on this thread yet, text dp1 to 150 when you get the sim.

So far three networks is better, 3p for call , 2p for text and 1p internet (mp)

Visiting Sainsbury's the other day, they had some EE £5 credit sims for £1 (?), I'm not sure if they are the same as these.

​it gives you £5 credit that you can use to buy packs or addons. You could spend that £5 on 100 minutes with 30 days use, or £3 on 100 minutes with 7 days use. Or you could a stick to the £1 pack it gives you that keeps rolling with 25 mins, 50 texts and 10mb each. So you could technically get 150 minutes, 20mb and 100 texts for this 99p sim

I was thinking that it simply gave me £5 of EE PAYG credit for £1. Feel free to educate me if not :smiley:

I'm tempted to buy for a very low use phone but the prices are so high that even at 1/5th normal price it's still twice as expensive as Threes PAYG rate, 30p/min v. 3p/min. Only 16 mins of calltime on this! I don't really understand how companies can exist like this in a competitive market.

Thanks for reply. I know that most simcard need to be used for chargeable call/text every 3 months. The problem is that if you buy a dozen of them and activate it using 150, it is difficult to keep it on your diary to make a call.
I remember someone mentioned in this forum that once activated, this particular simcard will not expire even you do not use this simcard.

Be careful with EE they failed to add my 100 GB of data to the Christmas sim offer, customer service is appalling and only a signed for letter threatening further action sorted it out, any problems write to customer complaints and dont try calling they lie on the phone ....

I get these free from rakuten every month when they give me my free points every month, excellent sims. I usually just send a STOP PACK immediately and then put on a 100 min 30 day PAYG bundle (£5) to get the 100 mins free to use that month

Always activate these special offer SIMs immediately.

Then, you need to make 1 "chargeable event" (i.e. one text message or phone call) every 180 days to keep the SIM active and retain your credit balance.

Also one of the good feature of this sim card is that they normally have multiple adapter, so you could use it for nano, micro and standard sim card.

If you need an adapter, buying adapter on its own already cost you more than 50p.
