All five seasons of the BBC crime drama starring Ben Miller. Attempting to solve a murder case on the tropical Caribbean island of Saint-Marie, DI Richard Poole (Miller) would rather swap the sun for his home in rainy London. As his investigations get underway, however, more killings occur and it seems that his boss has reasons for keeping him on the island. The cast also includes Sara Martins, Kris Marshall and Joséphine Jobert.

I find that new bloke from the BT adverts a bit annoying.

I think he's made the role his own. Wasn't happy at first but I think he plays the character well.

Don't understand why people buy things like this immediately after showing. Why not just record it if they are such a fan? Not the sort of thing you would want to watch time and time again anyway as far as I can tell. Hardly complex story lines that would reveal more on extra watching. Maybe I'm just a grumpy old git

40 episodes of 40 separate people being murdered in the same resort. That's some crazy crime stats for a so called paradise island.

Well it's kind of a Midsomer Murders set in the Caribbean with a dash of a Jonathan Creek 'how did they do that' element.

A TV programme like this is not concerned about reality [that statement probably extends to most of the reality TV shows too ]. You could say the same about any soap (Eastenders, Emmerdale, etc.] where they have to come up with even sillier/outlandish stories to top the previous cliffhanger.
The latest series isn't up to much I'd; earlier episodes ones were better I thought.
Whilst I buy a few things that were on TV as I probably watch them once/twice again without ads/not tied to an old Sky box/recording format/device I agree this is a little soon to add to the collection.

I don't think it's meant to reflect real life. At least I don't know of any real detectives who have a CGI lizard for a best friend.
