Agree 100% worthless once new/better formats come out (and I'm sure everything will go digital - streaming, cloud - eventually anyway). Don't think there are many out there paying ridiculous money for rare VHSs or Cassette Tapes from years ago.

Ordered with the Zbox because it makes sense. Makes the steelbook £20 and the Zbox ends up costing £10 with £5 topcashback for zbox's. I need a mug and a T-shirt , comic is cool and the other stuff can be gifted. The actual Zbox - box is worth a couple quid.

Is that going to happen to Deadpool though? How many films other than Star Wars have been repeatedly edited and remastered by the director? And there will be digital copies of this movie. The original will never be lost.

And as for steelbook value. A lot are well worth the money, cant really go wrong with marvel steelbooks especially.

Examples:

The recent Thor 3d lentucular steelbook sold out completely in a few days at around £23. It already goes for around £35 on ebay. That ones done a lot better than the other lenticular ones they released, mainly due its great design.

The daredevil steelbook they did a year or so made it all the way down to the £6.99/ 2 for £12 price. They now go for over £30 despite it being classed as a stinky movie as collectors want it for their Marvel collections.

The 4000 is a bit high, but seen as this films got a good buzz they wont stick around long and have good potential to be worth a lot more

Well since a lot of these steelbooks will be bought by people who probably wont look after them and keep them in mint condition, just makes it better for people who will look after them.

Saw it earlier today. Very disappointed. Just wasn't funny at all.

If you want it to make money off it then probably not worth it as everyone has already pointed out that it'll be worthless much like game steelbooks, but hoping the extras alone will be worth buying for! Best Marvel movie to date*!

Steelbooks are lovely items to have if you really like the film. IF you like them, as I do, then buy them and enjoy them. IF you think they're a waste of money, don't buy them and shut up. No one is suggesting they're a priceless family heirloom here.

So just a custom steelbook with the Blu-ray disc? Nothing else (i.e, a booklet)? Not a bad price considering new BD movies go for £19.99 so paying a little extra for a steelbook case may be worth it if you're a fan.

I remember seeing separate VHS copies of the original star wars trilogy sell on eBay for £500, due to the original roll film being deteriorated. There are the special editions but Lucas added edited parts of the original. The closest thing now available is the Harmy despecialised editions.

same as :smiley: i have been slightly cautious over the past few years of not pre ordering any more as id rather wait a few weeks and get them cheaper ( there have been a few that have sold out and i think damn, but then 2 months later they magicly appear at a discounted price)

Don't get the zbox. You'll be paying extra for a box of utter sh**. I bought one with the Age of Ultron bundle. And sent it straight back.
Had a promo comic, promo pack of cards, a dvd in a cardboard sleeve like you get free in Sunday newspapers, an a4 "poster", a pop vinyl figure, and a catalogue.

Zavvi usually place a number of limited editions out....they do quickly sell out on preorder then people chuck them on ebay for crazy money...oddly enough a lot end up coming back in stock from Zavvi...Warrior for example sold out for about 6 months then they suddenly had them back in stock! Some end up on Zavvi Outlet in Ebay as well.

They also have a tendency to drop the price a few weeks after pre order release!

we had the killer zbox delivered this morning and it's full of crap. cheap chucky soft toy rag doll thing, cheap small boba fett mug. lime green t-shirt with a raven print and lots of paper printed tack

Pre-ordered already but a bit expensive as it isn't 3D. Might come down in price but doubt it if the demand is great.

World wide release except China due to being banned over there. This is currently on pre-order on Amazon.fr also. First edition and UK release will hold its value somewhat but limited to 4000 you won't get rich from it.

Seeing this tonight, will decide on whether or not to keep my pre-order after watching looks awesome.

Cheers, 1st release marvel steels tend to hold their value, however zavvi is losing money by flooding market with re-release steelbooks. Like any commodity will end up worthless when their no longer a special item. ( 2 cents!) lol

It's not a special today only price, £29.99 is the RRP, (It's possible it'll go up to £24.99 but it's unlikely)

Cheaper than most new release Zavvi steelbooks.
