There are some great deals on Skyscanner to the USA this Summer. We've just booked 17th August for 2 weeks Manchester to Miami for £302 each - 1 stop in Atlanta and 23kg of luggage allowance each. We also saw Manchester to Los Angeles with BA for £429 each via Heathrow and San Francisco which was slightly cheaper. I thought this was worth sharing as we are a family of 5 and this works out at less than going to Cyprus for us!!

Its a great price- I am going the same day and paid 950 albeit that is to Orlando as we are going to Disney for a week before heading down to Naples again so you got an incredible price there for school hols. I live near Leeds myself. If you have not been to Naples before here are some tips:
1) Good places to stay, you can stay in one of the many hotels downtown, or on the Tamiami Trail. We normally take a villa. Probably been to Naples a dozen times, and really like Lely resort. 15 min drive to central Naples, but about same to Marco Island. If you get a villa with Players Club access- wow that is a great country club on the Lely Resort. We usually use Naplesvillarentals.com who are based in UK.
2) Beach around pier at Naples very nice. Great to watch fishing on peer. You nearly always see dolphins.
3) Some great restaurants in Naples- hundreds of them. For lower priced, the Bonefish Grill, Carabbas, Olive Garden and Longhorn always good. There is a particularly good Outback right outside Lely resort and one in the centre on Tamiami trail, opposite Carabbas. For a really nice treat go to the original Tommy Bahamas in Old Town. This is one of my favourite restaurants, lovely atmosphere with band on an evening.
4) Have a trip up to Sanibel and Fort Myers if you get time.
5) Go to Tangers outlets on the way up to Fort Myers (half hour drive from Naples) this is one of the best outlet malls I have been to in USA and I have been to a lot across 20 states. Abercrombie shirts for £15 for example.
6) Also up near Fort Myers is a place called Gulf Coast Town Centre- some good restaurants in there and it is near the Tangier outlet so can combine a trip to Fort Myers and Sanibel with an afternoon at outlet mall and a meal here.
7) Also in this area is the Corkscrew Sanctuary- boardwalks through conservation areas. :sunglasses: Laudermilk Beach in Naples is a cracker.
9) Trip to Marco worth it- there is a beach called Tigertail. Park up and wade over a lagoon to a virtually deserted beach with sharks teeth and sand dollars.
Enjoy. I have been to all the areas you are going and as you can guess Naples is by far my favourite. It is the richest city in US per capita and it shows. The Old Town is lovely.

Manchester to Atlanta is operated by a Virgin Atlantic A330-300 aircraft.

Just spent 26 hours in Atlanta after the incoming Virgin was hit by lightening. The stop was supposed to be a hour after a delta up from Fort Lauderdale. Still missing a case. My point is that the Delta flight they will use are run by the biggest bunch of incompetents I have ever come across. That said, great price just don't expect any help if something goes wrong at changeover.

Flown through Atlanta dozens of times, internal flights by Delta are really unreliable - invariably a delay on my onwards flights to Alabama. I take it that you were unlucky with a delay on the transatlantic leg?

It's still there at £302
It's still there at £302 but you don't pay as much Air Passenger Duty for Children, so this brings the average price down and you've searched for 2 adults so will be a bit more. It's Virgin There's loads of accommodation at decent prices depending on where you want to stay and what standard of accommodation you want. A decent 3* hotel for the 5 of us for 2 weeks was between £1200 and £1600, although we're planning to stay in a few different places. Try Trivago, Booking.com, Expedia etc No, 1 stop each way and good connections, there are some bad connections, just choose the good ones! Yes, I think you're looking at between £1200 and £1600 for a decent 3* hotel for 2 weeks - Orlando is cheaper, Miami more expensive, Gulf Coast cheaper than Miami, it depends what you want to do. Try Trivago, Expedia, Booking.com etc You've got food to add on to that; in the USA kids usually eat free and we've found it good value for us as a family when we've been before.
