Price keeps fluctuating, has been at this price before but not for a few days. 1200D specs look dated now but it is easy to use, handles well and is cheap!

No longer at the low price.
It was not the IS Image Stabilised lens anyway, but probably still a good deal for many people.

I have tried to expire it, without any luck. Perhaps a mod can expire it for me?
I'm personally lusting after the Panasonic DMC-CM1, the best smartphone camera ever by a good margin!

Nice price but I'd go for the Nikon D3300 or D5300 for an entry level DSLR. For only a little more (circa £300) you're getting a superior 24mp sensor (I know mp aren't everything) which is pretty much the same sensor used on the expensive Nikons.

Good deal as it is. There are some features missing for it to be a mid-range machine but if you don't care at all about a tilting screen, the number of focus points or whether there is headphone out, this is going to be a great machine.
The kit lens (18-55) is just about good enough until at least you learn why and how it could be better.
I'm fairly confident that in the right hands a Sigma 18-35 f1.8 or a Tamron 24-70 f2.8 would make this machine take pictures so convincing even seasoned pros would need to look at EXIF info to tell they weren't taken with a 7DmkII or a 70D.
Cracking APS-C sensor for the price.

Megapixel count means nothing. The only thing that makes megapixels important is if you want to blow up the picture or crop. The 808 has a tiny sensor, so if you were to blow a picture up, the result wouldn't be sharp and detailed like it would be from a DSLR. Sensor size is more important than megapixel count when you're after taking high quality photographs

this is a poor deal its very very low entry level slr, on par with the picture quality from a 2015 flagship phone. cold

No... Just no... You'll never get a detailed shot at 100% crop on a phone. The sensor sizes don't compare whatsoever! You have no idea what you're talking about. I can still take amazing pictures on my 13 year old Nikon D100

Good price. Jessops £10 more but "free" bag "worth" £40.
Yes you can get about £15 for the bag on fleabay minus shipping, final value and PayPal fees, so it works out about the same. More hassle though.

Those bags aren't worth the hassle. Can't fit much in them. I've tried many camera bags and I find that the best solution to to buy a waterproof messenger bag. Easy access and lots of room. Especially if you carry 2 cameras to save switching lenses.
In response to the deal, heat from me. Brilliant starter camera if you want to get into photography. Very capable, and able to take very professional photographs if used correctly. No need to spend £1500-3000 on a Canon 5D MK3 or Nikon D4s. Grab this, an external flash and a couple of lenses and you're away!

Of course the glass you use is the most important element. The camera is the cheap component of my kit.

If you're If you're looking for a version with the IS lens then I got this from Rakuten http://www.rakuten.co.uk/shop/pixelelectronics/product/Canon_1200D_KIT/?l-id=gb_search_grid_product_1
Listing says its not IS but when you read down the contents it says IS lens. I've has a couple from there and they are IS lens. Last one was 20X points so I got a really good deal and added the points to an extra lens.
£198 delivered with £11 in points...its an import but for the price its a good deal.

I'm looking for a decent camera and this seems like a good deal - good reviews on Argos website too.
Is there any other camera I would look at that is better or a good comparison?
Thanks

Not at this price and new. The Nikon D3300 is their entry level DSLR camera with a 24 Megapixel APS-C Sensor, The D3200 before it is a good camera with and came out around the same time as the 1200D but your only find refurbs or used models of those.

What's your budget? In terms of cameras people would class as "enthusiast grade", meaning a large sensor, interchangeable lenses and full manual controls, the 1200D is the cheapest first-hand option on the market, but there are other options in the £250-£300 space from most of the other big manufacturers that may be more or less appealing to you, so have a read around!
No mention of an IS lens, the lens in the images isn't the IS version, and it would be a very cheap deal if it was. I would bet on it not being the stabilised version.

Not image stabilised. Look for IS in the lens description.

Fantastic camera, a big upgrade from my Nikon D40.
I use it for amateur aviation photography and very impressed with the results.
