Gamer_U - did you really come in to a thread about a deal at Burger King just to tell us how you don't like fast food?

Whilst I'm appreciative of your concern for our wellbeing, I wonder if there's perhaps something more constructive you could be doing with your day. We all know the food in fast food outlets isn't the healthiest and sometimes people don't wash their hands, but you know what - if I'm hungry and I'm near a Burger King or a McDonalds I'll have a burger.

Moreso if there's a good deal on - so thanks op

Good point soldier boy.
I agree, it does take time (as it should) to savour a good piece of steak, should not be rushed.

However It does come down to cost and quality answers that question (yes, if you are prepared, but you can still have a "good" premium burger, and doesn't have to be "rushed" either ? Just my opinion.

Likewise you can also have a good traditionally made cornish pasty, and you can have those horrible mass produced branded things, see my point?
Yes a lot of burgers are eaten by people in the name of fast food however. I will not be one of them.
soldierboy001 to daytonaant
13 Feb 16 #254
Not quite sure you got my point, I meant that if you had a decent piece of steak at home, for home cooking why mince it up for a burger? when you could enjoy it as a nice steak cooked the way you want.
soldierboy001
13 Feb 16 #252
Why bash up the beef to make a burger, why not just have it as a nice steak with the veg of your choice. Burgers, and I do eat them myself, are for people in a hurry, hence fast food.
daytonaant
13 Feb 16 #251
Sorry but this is rubbish for me at least
A burger is not any old burger, to one who cares about it.

I wouldn't eat BK or McD but give me a home cooked premium burger at home, or any half decent restaurant, made from fresh steak quality meat / aberdeen angus british meat not frozen economy patties, yes please.
I'd rather eat there than any fast food chain !

Not a big consumer of this ( can't recall last time I had one acutally, months ago) but when I do, it has to be good.

I don't care really because here in Spain the prices are cheaper and less crowded with fewer whining kids and couldn't careless parents. The kids in Spain are not allowed to get their own way and behave properly, showing respect.

I can see if you want a quick snack and have not got time, once in a very rare while. But it's obvious some live on this ****. Best of luck. Go and spend a bit of cash on a proper piece of beef, cook it with some onions, some decent cheese (not plastic) and get a 'real' bread roll, not a piece of white pap covered in sesame seeds to disguise it, and you might then realise the BK McLibel and all the other junk pap is ****. Is that why you need a litre of Coke to wash it down?

If not, carry on getting obese. There will be more and more of you soon ...oh, wait a mo?

We're all living longer ...give it time, give it time.

Personally I think Burger King kicks Ronnie's backside, but their distribution of outlets is appaling. At least in North London it's truly awful. Its a Coca Cola/Pepsi Cola scenario situation u have here?.

Coco Cola came first to begin with, & their 'Marketing Strategy' they used from the off (eg. exploiting the then international potential of both the First & then the Second World War/s, etc?), inevitably ensured their powerhouse effect they have around the World today!, McDonalds over the course of its own time has utilized 'similar strategies' for its own part too ... (where as both Pepsi Cola/Pepsi Co., & Burger King not quite so, etc, etc ..... )

Thats why in-part the answer to your 'today' frustration I guess?.

Can honestly say Patty and Bun on Liverpool Street make terrible burgers IMO. Best burger I've ever had was in a place called Flat Iron (Bleak Street, London) a few years back. Wrong. The growth hormones used in the US and unfortunately Australia and NZ too are banned across the entirety of the E.U. And although of course the manufacturers of these horrific freakish things that make cows look like Arnie are constantly trying to get them into the supply chain here, I do hope they never succeed.

I wouldn't say so, their burger and chips is still just a fast-food burger and chips even though they put a 'gourmet' price tag on it. I thought BK and Five Guys burgers were quite similar in taste, Five Guys its a rip off for what you get, I've no interest in going back there again. If there was a Five Guys and BK next to each other I'd choose BK.

Those things sell themselves, its the most ordered according to a friend who worked at Burger King. bacon, cheese, and beef, racks up around 1000 calories. Also I don't think it would do them favours to promote it health wise. Most other burgers come in at half the calories.

I regularly pass 3 burger kings. Unfortunately, they are all inside a Little Theft (Little Chef) and close at either 9 or 10 and have no drive through. So when you want fast food at night, you've got a choice of McDonalds, McDonalds or McDonalds (and the best food there is the McGangBang for those in the know )

+1.

I actually bought one of the 'big king' meals and went back to the desk to ask whether I was given the wrong meal. It looked like a McD's cheeseburger. I couldn't believe how polar opposite the marketed pictures are to the real thing.

So long McDonald's double cheeseburger! My standard 'stuff something in my face to keep me going until I get home' for so many years now...

Although BK are at a disadvantage in that there's not an outlet every five minutes like there is in central London.

My friend took me to Five Guys on Upper Street . It was just as sweaty for about three times the price. Definitely a better burger though!
Saturn to northlondon01
8 Feb 16 2 #102
So you found Five Guys an expensive and sweaty experience. Was it worth it for the better quality meat they put between your buns?

8 Feb 16 #98
Is this nationwide in every store? have went in BK few times, always just went out because of their stupid prices and went for a mcdonalds cheesburger for 99p
SpudUK
8 Feb 16 1 #97
It's their standard price, a bit like the Poundsaver menu at McDonalds. May not work at franchised stores though (i.e. service stations, airports).
SpudUK
8 Feb 16 #96
People should really try using the BK App if they think that BK is expensive for standard prices.

It's not the best app, but when it works the prices are better than McDs.

E.G.
Whopper with Regular fries: £2.99
Whopper BOGOF (so effectively £3.99 for two)
2 Whoppers, 2 Cheese Burgers, 4 fries - £9.99 (Family bundle)

And I'm pretty sure these work at the franchise stores as I have used them with no problems at a Service station not far from Crawley.

2. Reach 200000 Views, then start getting paid for ads. Income approximately £300
3. Visit the doctors, and they say you now have cancer. Spend £2000 for treatment

Last I checked the NHS is free. And if 40 BK burgers represents a new early predictor of cancer, you may want to suggest it to the appropriate agencies. I smell a possible humanitarian award. Oh, and, mushroom farts GALORE..

8 Feb 16 1 #89
Nothing wrong with a BK, you can have it made to how you want it. You can determine how healthy or unhealthy is it. Just go in and ask for a Whopper but say "could you leave out the bun, burger, cheese & sauce please?" You've got yourself a healthy lettuce & tomato salad! ; )

Recently bought a small 'chicken burger' from BK - I'm not fussy when I need a snack but it was truly disgusting and had to throw it away. Looked and tasted like it was made from potted chicken paste: just a brown mush in breadcrumbs really. Horrible.

Their fries are the best but not impressed by the rest.

Big King is an awesome burger, might have to grab a couple.

The Mushroom used to be made with 'swiss' (white) cheese, not as impressive with normal red cheese.

My all time BK favourite was the vegatarian Bean Burger, was a mildly spicy breaded patty deep fried and served on a bun with cheese and (I thin) mayo/lettuce - the new version of this isn't as nice.
