For safety in the kitchen, the Village kettle is equipped with automatic shut-off with run-dry protection helping your kettle to last longer. The kettle's flip-top lid and push button operation make it simple to use whilst the 360-degree base ensures your kettle doesn’t restrict your movement in the kitchen.

I've lost count of the number of Bosch kettles I've had, they're crap.

I originally bought one from John Lewis. They used to come with a 2 year guarantee but would seldom last that long before failing. John Lewis would then just replace them, and the 2 year guarantee would be reset. I must have gone more than a decade getting endless replacements before one actually lasted 2 years+ and the guarantee expired.
Foolishly I bought another (the same model as in this post) from Sainsburys. The very flimsy filter broke pretty quickly, and eventually the lid jammed shut after about 18 months. Sainsburys insisted that because it had failed in the second year it had to be returned to Bosch. They provided a replacement, but explicitly stated that the guarantee is not reset, but continues to run from the original purchase date. The filter on the replacement has already broken, and the lid sticks sometimes. Never again!

Do you live in a hard water area? Hard water does no good to mesh filters, even if you de-scale regularly filters become brittle when in contact with the carbonates in hard water and deteriorate significantly faster than they should.
