Is this a decent TV for gaming?

TVs in general are not meant for gaming. They are meant for, well TV. If you care that much about getting a screen for gaming, get a monitor with a low response time, a good panel and one that doesn't have ghosting.
This is just a cheap generic panel which won't be of much use for anything other than watching TV. You can play games on literally any screen so this will work in that sense, but if you're asking about it catering to gaming needs, this isn't a viable option.

Astonishing price for a 50" TV. Is the guarantee only for 1 year?
