make the short journey to the city of York. History fans will be like a kid in a candy store with the city's wealth of museums and medieval, Roman, and Norman buildings including the largest Gothic cathedral in northern Europe. Shopaholics should head to The Shambles to make the most of the shopping opportunity.
Went there in 2012 under dealmonster (which has since ceased trading) and was really impressed with the rooms, location & food.

Though isn't actually in York - it's 11 miles North in Huby, up the A19.
Undoubtedly easier parking up there though I guess

So you have to buy the voucher before you can check actual dates available??

Hi, I would ring the hotel first just to check availability and then buy the voucher.

Most of these deals seem to involve misleading locations. I've seen similar deals for "Lake District breaks" for hotels in Workington and "Cotswolds breaks" in Swindon!
There are plenty of good hotels in York so why would you want to stay in one that's 11 miles from where you want to be?
And is it only me that read the hotel name as Bum Hall?

Our son and daughter in law gave us a voucher for my husbands 80th birthday which we really appreciated and looked forward to our two night break.Going into the dining room on the second night we were ushered into part of the dining area away from other guests! The restaurant manager came up to us and made a comment "have you been put in the naughty corner" ! (Not very good) After dinner we went to pay for the wine we had had we were told and the food.We did not know that it was only one evening meal on the voucher. The second evening meal we paid for.The next morning we left without having breakfast. Two weeks later a phone call saying we had meals to pay for.MAKE SURE OF THE VOUCHER!!
