The double pack of Lavazza Rossa is £5.70 and as I've had it selected for a while as part of my 10 myPick items but could never find it on the shelves I finally asked a member of staff if they had any left in their stockroom. To my delight he came back with these triple packs. No wonder the self is constantly empty as they are a bargain even at the full price of £5.70.
But with 20% off they work out as £1.52 each 250g packet, an amazing price for Lavazza coffee

i have a sod of a time trying to explain to my italian mother that the grey packaging inside the multi packs are to prevent resale... she is convinced they're cheap knock-offs and the company is pulling a fast one... she's persuaded her buds that they taste worse too... anyone know the underside of a patio that's not being used at the moment?

Your Italian mother has got good taste. The only thing worse than Lavazza for my taste buds is Cafe Kimbo. I used to buy Lavazza Gold in Italy for about 20 years. One day I ran out of Italian stock and bought it in the UK - I did not like it! I complained and they sent me a selection of coffee I couldn't drink. For £1:50 a packet its fine if you can drink it, but I much prefer smaller roasters or even Waitrose own brand - they've got some very good coffees - not at £1.50 though. The worse coffee is actually the stuff Waotrose give away.

My gaggia classic makes pretty good coffee with this...way better than the crap you get in costa or starbucks. I seriously would not consider this poor coffee.

The ClassictThe Classic is a great machine with great potential. If you think this is better than Star####s you should try a freshly ground, freshly roasted coffee in it. I don't agree with you about Costa though - their coffe is not as you described as its the only one on the high street that is any good.
