This deal is based on 2 adults flying out to Milan Bergamo from London Stansted on Friday 4th March returning on Monday 7th March. You will be staying for 4 nights in the 3* Hotel Tre Rose which is in the Nesso area of the Lakes.
Trip breakdown
You will leave Stansted early morning on Friday 4th landing around 11am giving you the whole of the Friday, you will pick up the car hire at the airport and drive to the lakes which is about an hour and a half drive.
I've chosen the 3* Hotel Tre Rose as it is ideally located to explore the lakes, it has free car parking, excellent reviews and a beautiful view over Lake Como itself.
You will be leaving late on the Monday taking off around 1830.
If you can't get the Friday/Monday off work there are later flights on the Friday after work hours and flights back Sunday night however these are a little more expensive!
I visited the lakes a few years ago and they're absolutely stunning, I strongly advise getting the local ferries from town to town, all of the towns are unique and beautiful!

Hotel booked with Expedia - £110.80 - £55.40 each
Car hire booked with ArgusCarHire - £18.55
Total price for 2 people - £209.31
Total price each - £104.66
This deal only includes hand luggage however you're entitled to 2 10kg cabin bags plus and additional handbag so this is plenty for this trip however if you feel you do need to check in a large case this is an extra £30 per case so pack wisely to keep the cost down!
I have chosen the Fiat 500 as this is a nice small car for those small Italian Lake windy roads! You can choose a larger car but I've found in Italy the smaller the better!

I think I've said before, but I would Gold Car like the plague. Nothing but horrific reviews for them online. We got a car at BGY from Avis and it was barely more, with the knowledge that there wasn't the possibility to be completely screwed over on the fuel tank policy.

I stayed in the Tre Rose in September last year for one night and had a lake facing balcony just like the one in the photo. Its a nice little hotel. Right next to the road and a tunnel (which they don't let on in their photos), but we didn't find it too noisy.
