This is a perfect trip for anyone who wants to see some of the lesser known European cities and people who like a busy holiday, like myself!!

This deal is based on 2 people flying out to Warsaw from Liverpool on 19th April returning on 7th May. You will be staying for 3 nights in Warsaw, 3 nights in Cologne, 4 nights in Budapest, 4 nights in Kiev, 2 nights in Vilnius and 2 nights in Dublin.

Trip breakdown

Warsaw - 19th April - 22nd April - Fly from Liverpool with Ryanair into Warsaw Modlin, there are plenty of coaches to Warsaw centre from here, you can book your ticket online or buy it on the day. Check into the 3* hotel Reytan which has good reviews on TripAdvisor and close to public transport for great access to the centre! The flight to Cologne isn't until late on the 22nd but remember to give yourself plenty of time to get back to Modlin.

Cologne - 22nd April - 25th April - You land around 10pm local time so hop on the train to the centre and you can either hop on the tram to the hotel or walk around 15 minutes. You are staying in the 4* Burns Fair and More which has excellent reviews on TripAdivsor and is number 28/280 hotels, I've stayed in the Messe area of Cologne and would recommend it. The flight to Budapest is early in the morning so set off super early so you don't miss your flight!

Budapest - 25th April - 29th April - You land in Budapest around 8.30am giving you the whole day in one of my favourite cities. Head straight to the Feodorm Apartments which are located in the heart of Budapest only a few minutes walk to the Parliament Building! The flight to Kiev is early in the morning so another early rise.

Kiev - 29th April - 3rd May - The flight lands in Kiev around 11am and you will be staying in the Express hotel in the centre of the city. The hotel has good reviews on TripAdvisor and is close by to most of Kiev's attractions. The flight to Vilnius is mid afternoon.

Vilnius - 3rd May - 5th May - You land in Vilnius around 3.30pm and head straight to the Vilnius City Hotel which has won TripAdvisor awards and is newly renovated. It is in walking distance of most attractions. The flight to Dublin is at 11pm so you have the whole day on the 5th to explore.

Dublin - 5th May - 7th May - You land into Dublin just after midnight on the 6th so head straight to the hotel to get your head down. I've chosen the 4* Kingswood Hotel which is around 5miles from the heart of Dublin but is accessible by public transport. It has excellent reviews on TripAdvisor. You don't fly back into Liverpool until 8.50pm which gives you the whole day on the 7th to enjoy the last day of the trip!

I understand this trip is very busy and probably won't suit everyone but this is the sort of holiday I like to do so I'm sharing my favourite type of holiday for others to try and enjoy too!

Price breakdown

Flights to Warsaw booked with Ryanair - £37.96 - £18.99 each

Flights to Cologne booked with Ryanair - £20.27 - £10.14 each

Flights to Budapest booked with Eurowings - £57.85 - £28.93 each

Flights to Kiev booked with Wizzair - £80.10 - £40.05 each

Flights to Vilnius booked with Wizzair - £89.10 - £44.55 each

Flights to Dublin booked with Ryanair - £62.38 - £31.19 each

Flights to Liverpool are booked with Ryanair - £15.22 - £7.61 each

Warsaw hotel booked with Amoma via Trivago - £114 - £57 each

Cologne hotel booked with LowCostHolidays - £125.84 - £62.92 each

Budapest hotel booked with Booking.com - £91 - £45.50 each

Kiev hotel booked with GetARoom via TripAdvisor - £53.25 - £26.63 each

Vilnius hotel booked with Booking.com via TripAdvisor - £50.19 - £25.10 each

Dublin hotel booked with Venere (using code for 12% off AFFQ1LP19) - £83.99 - £42 each

Total price for 2 people - £881.15

Total price each £440.58

This deal only includes hand luggage however for the amount of travelling you are doing it would be a great burden with a large suitcase, having to check it in and cart it around all the cities. This trip is designed for people who are ready to up and go with just hand luggage, it was also cost a fortune adding a suitcase on to all these flights!

I wish people would stop giving heat for effort. I fully agree, GREAT effort, but it's hard to describe it as a deal. None of the flights look less than they'd normally cost and it would make much more sense for people to choose their own cities to visit, their own hotels to stay in and their own dates to travel.

You've probably given some good ideas to less imaginative travelers who want to be a bit more imaginative, but despite the great effort and lovely intentions, I don't see the deal (sorry!).

You can book a similar thing with marginal research during school holidays for not much more...

(Which makes me doubt my previous criticism even more than I was already if it's encouraging people to do this who wouldn't otherwise!)

You'll always spend more getting to and from the airport than a Ryanair flight. Why not research the apex intercity trains within Europe which are much more useful?

You've never heard of hand luggage? The Wizzair legs aside, I struggle to understand how anyone couldn't cope with that - I just did it for 11 weeks.

Yes I have. I have my camera gear in my hand luggage and tend to want to wear clean clothes each day and not smell like a pole cat.

A quick tip for you - you'll save a LOT of money if you wash and reuse clothes instead of wearing new ones every day.

30 Jan 16 #29
No tips required. I'd rather not be mistaken for a tramp and spend have my time sitting in a launderette naked. But thanks all the same. I look forward to your next tip on saving money by sleeping on park benches or finding food in a bin. Fortunately, I dont need to save my pennies to the extent you must need to. My next trip in April me and the missus will both be taking 2 large suit cases plus hand luggage. You cant travel light on 6 star cruises. Take that as a return tip.

What was? Your points about this deal have been utterly moronic so it can't be those, and a six-star cruise sounds horrific enough without having to endure the company of people like you so if it was that then it didn't work... Though the fact you've still got me replying is somewhat of a victory for you, lucky I'm so incredibly bored!
adamjames1
30 Jan 16 #33
I just booked 11 nights (Riga, Berlin, Cologne, Warsaw, Wroclaw, Warsaw, Oslo, Krakow) flights & hostels £200. If i hadn't I'd have checked this out, skipping Dublin though.
adamjames1
30 Jan 16 #34
You can get the Modlin Bus from the airport for 50pln (about £8.75) as a return, takes bout 30mins I think, i've been a few times but never check. Or get bus/train 16,50pln each way takes about 1.20hrs though.
Can't recommend Warsaw enough. Best bar is Piw Paw, near Wilcza.
adamjames1
30 Jan 16 #35
This isn't a 6-star cruise though is it? No one was discussing that. I fail to see how you don't understand the simple concept of taking 2-3 pairs of jeans/socks/underwear etc in the 2 bags you can take onboard these flights, and using a laundromat whilst wearing the 3rd pair. Just rotating.
I've done plenty of 5* holidays, but this isn't following a little group of people around. This is just a little trip around, using your own initiative and seeing things you don't see stuck on a boat.

Also, I don't know why you felt the need to try to impress people or put someone down with your ridiculous remarks ON THE INTERNET. Perhaps you should consider just not commenting, or discussing these points you wish to argue with someone directly, sir.
365pizza
30 Jan 16 #36
6* cruise = Horrific. No change of clothes = wonderful.

Yeh, you've got me. Why wouldn't anyone swap horrific for wonderful? Oh wait! brb explaining to the missus the cruise is cancelled as I've had a tip that travelling like a tramp is better.

Now, lets have a vote. How many would be happy to travel for 3 weeks with probably one change of clothes in a carry on bag.

I agree with you that 6* cruising isnt for everybody. Thank goodness for that - though at least they do have a laundry service if you cant afford to bring a suitcase. That would be the least of your financial concerns though.
365pizza
30 Jan 16 #37
You are correct. Its not 6 star luxury, I never said it was, merely pointing out that my next trip I have 2 suitcases for 10 days. Not suggesting anyone would need to take 2 suitcases to do this trip at all, but I'm damned sure I'd want to take my camera gear so space for a change of socks would be all thats left.

I guess the need was something similar to you telling everyone you travel 5* and respond in kind to similar attempts at put downs.

Enjoy your trip. Krakaw would be my personal highlight of your list of places.

Enjoy the trip youve moaned at the OP about.... and not actually doing any of it!
callum9999

Speaking as a budget traveller I always look for cheap flights during school holidays but I never have any luck so I respectfully doubt you have tried this. Every single school holiday the flights jump up, often over a hundred pound, although I dare say the hotels stay the same.
callum9999
30 Jan 16 #45

I wouldn't bother mate. I agree with you and the guy's an ignorant troll imo. Sounds like you enjoy travelling and seeing new places
Just not his way of travelling.

I travel a lot with work and agree you can easily go a good few weeks with carry on luggage if planned right and using laundrettes.

If he's taking trips on cruises, he's missing out on a whole load of interesting cities around the world. Only been on a cruise once and couldn't wait for it to end but horses for courses. And I hope he stops with the willy waving - it's pathetic!

And for people complaining about cologne, then you may as well include Vienna, Copenhagen, Oslo and many other northern European cities which incurred the same fate that infamous night. Cologne is a great city and only ruined by a minority.

BTW, good deal op. Some great places well worth visiting.

This is just silly but go on then share that flight with me as I wouldn't mind going back to Thailand for that price. I'll not hold my breath.
callum9999
31 Jan 16 #52
You can't share it, I booked it a month ago...

On the first day of the Easter holidays (2nd April in my region?) you can fly to Dublin, Copenhagen, Aarhus, Billund, Brussels, Tours and Eindhoven for the same price or less than the OP's first flight though (and dozens more places for marginally more). As I said, it's not hard, and if you ask with a little more civility I might even look for the specific dates you need.

You sir should learn to read. I never said Tripadvisor was useless, I stated I did not trust it.
The fact is there are far better guides available. Expedia may have sold Tripadvisor, however it still hold a considerable shareholding in the company. It is a biased organisation full of fictitious reviews
callum9999
31 Jan 16 #57
That makes no sense. You basically called the OP an idiot because they thought a hotel looked good based on good reviews on Tripadvisor. If that doesn't make it useless, what does?

I write on TripAdvisor regularly and so do my friends so even though some reviews maybe bias there are a lot of honest reviews on there too! Shame happychappy doesn't live up to his name, no matter what you say on here there's always neg eggs ready to throw their words in!

No I do not call anybody an idiot! Even you! Everybody in my opinion is entitled to there views, mine as originally stated is I do not trust Tripadvisor. I do however trust The agents gazetteers from D&G I make them freely available to all that request despite the vast amount they charge me each year in subscriptions. They are unbiased reviews which give "the good bad and ugly"
At the end of the day it is your choice which you believe and trust,so please stop the name slanging and misinterpretation.
callum9999
1 Feb 16 #61
Well next time I suggest you make your posts slightly clearer than mud - I still cannot remotely see how I misinterpreted your posts even now.

And the word "basically" means you didn't actually do it, you did something similar. Which is exactly what you did with your "well if you want to trust Tripadvisor, fools are easily parted from their money" bit, so don't try and squirm your way out of it again... Your rants against Tripadvisor are absurd. If you don't take every review and score for gospel then Tripadvisor is more than adequate - period.

Finally, your tantrum from being told you don't live up to your "happychappy" name is hilarious given the incredibly rude and snotty post you made first to the OP, mocking the "HUKD travel expert" badge by their name and inferring they're a fool, all because they said they use Tripadvisor to get the gist on a hotel.
