Reviews are pretty bad

Reading the comments most are really positive.
There are a few negative ones I've noticed like someone complaining the restaurants weren't open ( this was 27th Dec, so understandable) and someone complaining there were no spa/swimming facilities and that the hotel had a corporate feel to it.
It's worth reading through them and weighing it up for yourself.

It's hardly in the middle of nowhere, and Crewe is 15 minutes away. Probably only a few minutes more to Stoke. Nice place (Wychwood)

We went about 18 months ago on a similar deal. The room was pretty dated with an old crt tv and
we didn't have dinner included so went out to eat- there's plenty of nice pubs close by. Breakfast was average, not very hot and with a lot of waiting around but on balance I think we got what we paid for.

i have stayed here. on a similar deal. i felt it was decent value. the food is ala carte so dont expect a huge amount. but was fine and tasted good. its in the middle of a large golf course so if you plan a walk into town dont bother. it has a corporate feel to it. which is probably their intention.

1 hours drive from anywhere, unless you want to play golf. Tries to pass off as a Chester hotel. I don't think so.

just spent Saturday night there: don't expect too much from the deal - hotel quiet, nothing going on - meal standard - wine menu very pricey - pint of beer almost £5 - bar opens at 5pm and closes at 10.30pm if not enough guests in - breakfast just warm - restaurant tables more in keeping with café!

Just booked for valentines for £69!! Thats a bargin! Most restraunts charge that for a meal on valentines anyway.

I've stayed here too. More central hotels are expensive. It's excellent value but yes, it has disadvantages like being a business/golfing hotel in the middle of nowhere. Going to ask OH if they want to go back though. Good nights sleep ad an ideal transit hotel
