The X-dock 3 is dimmable but much more expensive. The 2 seems just the same otherwise, although the buttons are labelled with all the functions rather than some. I have the 2 and the wife has the 3, and I have to look at the labels on hers to remind myself of what the buttons on mine do.

Forgot to say, my daughter couldn't use it with her 5S as it made that annoying cell phone buzzing noise - might be just her phone as the wife and I both have iPhone 6 and not had that problem.

If I remember rightly, it was ok. It was at least as good as the clock/radio that I wanted to replace, although that is over 30 years old.:smiley:

I think this is the one I've got. Light isn't that bad at all. When you have your eyes closed not like you notice! I only use it for speaker and clock not the alarm settings

The original XDock is for the 30pin , if you can find one around
I'd rate the sound of this as 'OK' but nothing special- about as good as a 8cm or so speaker could sound
It's a lot more, at around £55 but the Soundfreaq Sound Rise is a MUCH better clock radio, and with Bluetooth, plus 5V USB charging.
