I think that is a very articulate and sensibly worded response on the subject.

Every world Champion has played in the BDO. They do more for grass roots darts than the PDC ever will. If the BDO looks like amateurs that's because some of them are and have jobs like us mere mortals. The PDC would not exist without the BDO. I have nothing against Phil's Darts Club, but the constant comparisons are boring. It's like comparing the EPL with the Football League. The BDO could exist without the PDC but could the opposite be true?

The PDC makes the BDO look like an amateur game from what I watched! Both enjoyable to watch, but seems a different league of player in the PDC if you ask me.

Why does darts have seperate tournaments for men and women? Its not a physical contact sport like rugby where strength and size is an advantage so why do they need to be seperate?

I think people are entitled to make comparisons when the BDO run a 'world championship' that only includes probably 1 or 2 of the worlds top 32 players. Maybe the BDO should call it the 'pub players championship' if they want to avoid comparison. And yes the PDC would exist without any issues if the BDO ceases to exist and would just mean the PDC's challenge tour gets stronger.

Oh and to all the new dart board owners, get ready for many many holes in your wall. Most of them made by your so called friends who you will swear sometimes are doing it on purpose

Yeah I remember as a teenager having many a wall poster ruined by over zealous throwing by friends missing the board and the cabinet altogether.

So if grass roots darts is all about beer swilling and food eating does a switch to the PDC from 'grass roots' darts help these athletes to decrease their BMI

That's a tough one to answer! I don't think women are any less capable than men, hell my wife beats me all the time :sunglasses:. It's like motor racing too. I think the issue is that the overall talent pool is a lot smaller as they're male dominated sports so the quality of the women's game could be perceived to be lower simply because there are less people playing so to get to the top level to compete with the men is statisically against females. It's certainly evident in the throws.

Obviously the standard of the PDC is vastly superior but the entire organisation exists to cater for a handful of players. They get the most games, tournaments, lucrative exhibition matches etc. Naturally these players have to put in the hours in terms of practice & dedication.
But I'm not a fan of the some aspects of their presentations. The 'walk-on' girls who just smile and lets their tits do the talking, or the dancing girls on stage. Not for me.
The BDO do the dirty work, lets be honest.

Looking at some of the womens 3 dart averages, its way way down on the men.
That was not trolling, it was an observation based on watching both tournaments for the first time this year and noticing the differences in averages...how is that trolling?

I play darts. This is cheap, not good. There is a big difference.
