Star Wars battlefront on UK Playstation Store.
Standard - £27.99
Deluxe - £32.99
Ultimate - £74.99
This might be the cheapest the standard and deluxe versions have been on our store.

EA's star wars cash cow, More content in demo's than in the standard version. The so called "ultimate version" is what the standard version should be.
It's evolve all over again.
heat for being cheapest price.

Don't worry, they'll have BF2 and BF3 out in time for the next two movies, maybe after you've paid like £300 for all three + Premium you might have a complete game.

At that price I'm really tempted to bite, even though I know I'll play for a day and then never touch it again :-/
Also, poor form by Sony for having it "on offer" for last 2 weeks and then reducing it further... Glad I didn't bite last week

This was in Jan sale that expired at 23:59 26th Dec. Stated as 33% off.
Then immediately on 27th Dec price dropped to th OP prices.
Absolute rip off sales activity that is usually reserved for selling settees and beds.

As for the game, I have barely played it but my kids love it. They are 6 & 4 (local play only!) and fight each other on splitscreen daily - can't get enough of it. Has probably had more hours put into it in the last week then most other games I buy!!!

Love this game, but I only love it online, it would be a very poor and shallow (although gorgeous) game in "no mates" single player mode.
Worst aspect of this game though is buying the cheap one and starting with weak weapons. You can be on someone and firing at them, needing 3 or 4 shots to take them out, meanwhile, they react to your first shot and with their powerful weapon they take you out with one hit.

digital goods have a 14 day refund period that starts from the day of the transaction. The only exception is if the retailer gains your EXPRESS consent that you waiver your 14 day refund right if you download or start streaming the content within that 14 day period. Sony do not have a tick box or pop up where you physically click/select an option to acknowledge this before being able to click to download or stream thof content. Apple does, steam does, but not PSN.
Just google digital goods consumer rights.

The reality is that the DLC maps are all made and ready to go, but to maintain interest in the game and generate more money they're kept off the final product to sell in the future. An awful industry practice that is even worse here as they seemed to have put the bare minimum in to class it as more than a demo.
People are also annoyed that this version is much more dumbed down than the previous iterations in the series and that it lacks any deep gameplay.

i have this game - i managed to get it for just over £18 from the US store a week or so ago so didn't waste much money but i am very disappointed with it, the single-player is useless and unless you play online constantly there is no way you will be able to get good enough to compete with this who do so just end up in a spiral of spawn and die.
having said that, some may like it, but i am very disappointed with the attitude this generation of releasing half a game for a very high price and expecting people to pay even more for what should have been included in the first place - i wish for the old days when you just bought a game and that was it, you had the game, enjoy it, now it seems like buying the game is just giving you the option to then pay more to buy the actual 'game'
ysdevil to chublet
27 Dec 15#98
It was always known there was little to none single player in this game, so you have no come back there.
While I also complain that the games today are based a different pay system, you have to remember the costs of games before this. At my reckoning, we are paying about half the price for games that we should be paying.
The likes of Sonic for the SMS or Megadrive, were £40, or in the £30's if you were lucky.
We're still paying the same price for games (or less with internet shopping).
They needed to look for new ways of getting money from gamers, as too many games are now free/cheap and use other ways make up the price.
Also games really drop in price quickly, compared to how they used to.
I don't like it, but the world has moved on. Would you pay £80 for a std game? Well, you might, but most gamers wouldn't.

The Star Wars posts always make me laugh, you see countless comments along the lines of "not enough content to justify the price" from people who don't even own the game. Care to share how you know there isn't enough content when you haven't played it? I played the EA access trial and loved it so much I bought the game. There are only 4-5 worlds but each has multiple maps and the amount of game modes is crazy, I've spent 20-30 hours just playing. For someone who fell out of love with multiplayer shooters after Modern Warfare 2 this offers something fresh and new. There could be more content, hopefully there will be (and lots of free stuff to boot!) but what IS there is brilliant in my humble opinion.

Not trying to stir things up but is this really a good deal seeing that you can never sell the game on when you get bored of it,and from what I've been reading that could be sooner rather than later.
Personally I thInk all this digital download stuff is a right rip off as from what I have seen on the PlayStation store, most of the games cost more to download than they do to buy a physical copy of which has a resale value.
These companies must love it that people are willing to pay the same amount and more for a game that they don't even have to supply on a disc,no box to supply and no shipping costs. For me to buy into this digital download revolution I would want to pay at least 50% less than a physical copy.

Deluxe gives you a few weapons, one of which is a mean pistol. You unlock all of them by playing so if you don't mind waiting, it's a waste of time. I wouldn't buy it. izekial27
28 Dec 152#115
Just buy the standard edition. It is as good and has as much content as the others, minus the season pass dlc you will eventually get with the £75 option.
The deluxe edition give day 1 access to 3 weapons that you will otherwise unlock by playing the game. Other than that the deluxe edition gives you two exclusive character emotes, which basically make your character perform a preset animated dance/movement that is an almost useless feature with no benefit to the game.

For some reason people would rather **** on it rather than give it a go. Truthfully it's a good game, good graphics, fun gameplay.
People are **** at the 'lack of content' and the amount the dlc costs. There's a lot planned an some free stuff as well.
Gamers are often way too self entitled when it comes to costs and fail to note that the cost of making these games is much higher than the cost of making say sonic, and they are still being charged similar figure or in some cases much less now ( I remember select SNES games costing £60+). If you take inflation into account a £35 1990 mega drive game should now retail for £100+. Knowing that gamers would never go for this and the rise of the second hand market, a new model for revenue needed to be developed with DLC. I get it I really do and would rather pay this premium to play a complete and compelling game that everyone turn to freemium / pay to win candy crush!
In short go buy it, play it have fun and don't listen to the haters who are complaining about a base game costing the same as a night in the pub despite having the potential to last hundreds of hours longer!
Scar_HeadFaced
28 Dec 15#119
Princedraven, yes they are exactly the same.
Donkeykonk, no extra content has been released yet so the amount of content available is the same on all of them. The best thing to do is buy the standard edition, if you enjoy it and are still playing when the first piece of dlc is released you can buy the season pass.

I gotthe Standard in the end, rather enjoying it (just played for a couple of hours) not at all bad for a very casual gamer like me, I think the graphics are really excellent, best looking game I have seen on my rarely used PS4.

most likely cut scenes, choosing a game mode or waiting for friends or lobbies to fill up prior to a match starting.

Paid £95 for std + season pass at release but I top up my wallet with O2 credit so it was more like £35 in real money.
This is a great price (heated) but I will echo others in it being a bit shallow on content. BF4 had 10 maps in the base game - 5 maps gets tired pretty quickly.

such a boring game. Shame as it looks great. £15 is the price it should be.
Opening post
Standard - £27.99
Deluxe - £32.99
Ultimate - £74.99
This might be the cheapest the standard and deluxe versions have been on our store.

Also, poor form by Sony for having it "on offer" for last 2 weeks and then reducing it further... Glad I didn't bite last week
EA shouldn't be rewarded for selling half a game. It'd need to be cheaper for heat from me.
Good job.

Then immediately on 27th Dec price dropped to th OP prices.
Absolute rip off sales activity that is usually reserved for selling settees and beds.
The Jan sale gave the impression that upon the expiry the price would return to the usual price.
Who would expect a sale item to be immediately cheaper upon sale expiry?
As for the game, I have barely played it but my kids love it. They are 6 & 4 (local play only!) and fight each other on splitscreen daily - can't get enough of it. Has probably had more hours put into it in the last week then most other games I buy!!!
I guess the novelty wore off for me pretty quickly.
Been playing rainbow six mostly, which is better imo.
Be aware this bf is not on par with the bf's on ps2.
Rainbow 6 came with my GPU and sold it. Ended up playing the free weekend and then buying it. Much more fun... the TK'ers and CoD run and gunners are annoying though :disappointed:
Worst aspect of this game though is buying the cheap one and starting with weak weapons. You can be on someone and firing at them, needing 3 or 4 shots to take them out, meanwhile, they react to your first shot and with their powerful weapon they take you out with one hit.
I like it - it's fun, novel, and engaging for a player like me. Not worth it's RRP of £54.99GBP (no game is) - but for a late night gaming session, it's bob on. Heat for the price and not having to go through the U.S registration stuff like I did...
If you rush on multiplayer you will get rinsed, did have some guy get around the back of my team though he got spotted 2 secs after he went out then the marker above his head dissapeared, he managed to kill a few of us, the swine.
thanks..
Also I think they well in a few months
Just google digital goods consumer rights.
IT IS STILL A RIP OFF, VERY LITTLE CONTENT, YOU WILL BE BORED OF IT IN A WEEK, THE 'DELUXE' ADDITION IS FOR MUGS, IF THE 'ULTIMATE' ADDITION WAS £35 IT WOULD BE OK, BUT IT'S NOT, DON'T BE TEMPTED, DON'T BE A MUG OR RIPPED OFF.
Deluxe? Jesus they are ripping us off.
Rant over, cheers OP!
I'm still hoping they'll release a patch to play NFS 2015 ofline.
all the game modes and maps were published up front prior to game launch.
Any fps multiplayer based game has limited content with paid dlc, not exactly a shocker
Bf4 is still getting content released after 2 years, long after the paid dlc revenue has dried up. ( granted it was a broken mess to start ).
People are also annoyed that this version is much more dumbed down than the previous iterations in the series and that it lacks any deep gameplay.
having said that, some may like it, but i am very disappointed with the attitude this generation of releasing half a game for a very high price and expecting people to pay even more for what should have been included in the first place - i wish for the old days when you just bought a game and that was it, you had the game, enjoy it, now it seems like buying the game is just giving you the option to then pay more to buy the actual 'game'
How else do you spend time on a game other than playing it?
Turn up the burn!
Ultimate seems awfully expensive, but is Deluxe a waste of time ?
The deluxe edition give day 1 access to 3 weapons that you will otherwise unlock by playing the game. Other than that the deluxe edition gives you two exclusive character emotes, which basically make your character perform a preset animated dance/movement that is an almost useless feature with no benefit to the game.
Donkeykonk, no extra content has been released yet so the amount of content available is the same on all of them. The best thing to do is buy the standard edition, if you enjoy it and are still playing when the first piece of dlc is released you can buy the season pass.
Still, voted hot because it is a great price currently!
This is a great price (heated) but I will echo others in it being a bit shallow on content. BF4 had 10 maps in the base game - 5 maps gets tired pretty quickly.
