Picked this tv up at this price around Black Friday. Not a bad TV although input lag is a bit of a nightmare which can make the gaming experience a little below par. Also; when every pixel is black the backlight cuts out entirely which can be very noticeable on slow fades to black. I've gotten used to it but found it very annoying at first. The TV also defaults to its internal tuner when switched on and can't be changed - so if you're using a sky/virgin box be prepared to have to switch input every time you turn the tv on.
Smart functionally is decent and the anytime connectivity with my PS4 is pretty cool (I can use my TVs remote to switch it on and off, navigate the ps4 menus and control playback of blu-Ray's. Picture is good but not great.
A decent enough TV at a good price but not without its flaws. If you're desperate for a 60" then it's one of the best I've seen at a reasonable price - but with the price of OLEDs slowly dropping - it might be worth waiting if you're in no major rush.

The LG all day. This is a pretty sub par 4K set where as the LG is one of, if not, the best 1080p set at the moment.
EDIT: Had the LG down as 1080p in my head for some reason but it is, in fact, 4K. It's still better than this Samsung but obviously not the best 4K set going.

No brainer, the LG is superior. Passive 3D solid build, hdr and colourprime.

check to see if you can turn off dynamic contract or something alike to stop the backlight shutting off on black scenes.
my panasonic does it but I enjoy the deeper blacks that come from the feature

Isn't there a Game Mode setting under System > General? There is on my 40" version of this and it makes the input lag go from 118 ms to 26 ms.
Also I quite like that dimming feature when the screen goes black during movies, etc, makes me feel like I'm in the cinema if I'm watching it in the dark! You could probably disable it by turning off Dynamic Contrast? I guess that's what does it.

No luck with turning off Dynamic Contrast unfortunately. Have tried every setting I could find and no way of switching it off. I wouldn't mind so much if the backlight shut off incrementally - but as it is it goes from black with the backlight to true black to black with the backlight in the space of about 12 frames and looks very odd. As mentioned - I've gotten used to it so it's not as big a deal now as it first was.
As for the gaming mode - it makes a slight difference to the input lag but not enough to make online fps games playable.

Input lag is supposed to be 26ms in game mode. So that is not an issue. You've either not switched it on or there's something else hampering your gaming.

I got the LG60UF850V from Currys when it was on sale and this Samsung was right next to it both powered up. LG had more clarity, sharpness, contrast and better colour overall

So you change the setting, if they won't let you then no sale. I even take a USB stick with a mixture of SD and HD videos on when I'm looking for TV's to check the picture on different quality video.
RicherSounds and John Lewis have never once had an issue with this.
Don't be fooled by TV's showing the latest HD Pixar movie in store, EVERY TV looks god showing this stuff....you need to test poor quality to get the measure of a TV

For those who are less informed.
JU6000 specifies that this is their entry level mid range TV. It has a 60Hz refresh rate as a result it is not that smooth during fast during action or sport, reviews have shown juddering during 4k Movies. This TV panel also has below average blacks and contrast, pre and post optimisation.
At this price the panasonic Tx-50cx680b (£700) or Samsung UE50JU6800(£749) are significantly better purchases . The only thing going for the samsung UE60JU6000 is the size.
I hope this helps.

For a long time everybody in the know has said that the 'next gen' video standards would incorporate several elements. Resolution is only one part of it. Buying an early 4K set is a mistake.
The UHD Alliance announced those specs at CES, under the label UHD Premium.
This TV doesn't support them, nor most other 2015 4K sets.

9 Jan 161#31
There's no such thing as future proof these days when it comes to televisions. The TVs you'll buy in 3 months will be surpassed by the 8k sets that come out 12 months later and those by the next gimmick that manufacturers tell us we need.
Realistically 4K is the highest resolution you're ever going to need for tv sizes that will fit in living rooms and this tv is capable of displaying 4K content to a decent standard (not that there's really any high bitrate content out there to watch on it).
You can always wait x amount of time and get something better. If people are looking for a 60" 4K tv right now though - then this is a decent proposition.

Not this! I'd wait for the price of OLEDs to come down if you're going to be spending that kind of money. Alternatively Samsung's nanocrystal display models are a good shout - but as far as I know the biggest in the range at the moment is 60".

I was wondering about this myself with my set. It always did it, then I had to do a factory reset and it stopped doing it.
I grew to like it, and tried every setting I could think of to get it back to no avail.
After a bit of research on forums, I found it is to do with the backlight brightness setting. Above or below a certain point it will either do it or not. I'm afraid I cannot remember which way around it is. However, my backlight is currently set to 12 and it does it.
