I think is not a bad price for a 8KG washing machine with 5 years warranty.

Looks a good price as I suspect it's a heat pumped one and has a great warranty.

Thought so! was gutted as I need a deal on a drier but all I seem to see is washing machines.
Hotpoint have decided my drier is a fire hazard and said I will get a free repair........IN JULY!
My only personal experience is their AV equipment, none of which lasted more than 3 years.

This review is from: Panasonic NA148VB6WGB 1400rpm Washing Machine 8kg Load Class A+++ (Misc.)
I have had a Panasonic washing machine for just over 2 years, and was initially happy with it. Unfortunately I have now been without a washing machine for two months due to the terrible service from Panasonic. They have sent the wrong parts a total of 4 times to their designated repair centre! The only way I am able to contact them is through emails, to which they will respond by email. There is no opportunity to speak to anyone regarding the issues and I feel very frustrated with the overall lack of service. Purchasing a Panasonic Washing Machine could be a very expensive mistake if anything does go wrong... I will never purchase a Panasonic item again after this experience and urge anyone to read all the negative reviews on Panasonic Items which will show the lack of customer service for Panasonic.

Sorry for some reason I assumed it was a dryer (even though it says clearly in the title).

Thats not really fair. It's clear there was an issue here with the wrong part being supplied which was really inconvenient to the customer for this one review. You can get horror stories for all brands. Panasonic generally review very well.
I've had my Panasonic for about 15 months and performs brilliantly. Also on that review was it Panasonic at fault or the local repair agent. I think Panasonic employ local repair companies for service so in one area it is possible the service agent has examined the washing machine and ordered the wrong parts and then blamed Panasonic. Ultimately it is the service engineer that will identify the parts needed and request them from Panasonic. They would normally have a code. Are Panasonic sending out different parts from those numbered in the service manual or were the part numbers incorrect. The bit Panasonic have to do is really easy they are given a code and they send out that part. The bit the service engineer has to do is much harder and much more likely to go wrong.
I'm pretty sure I've read stories before of people having problems with Samsung because they use local repair companies and the company concerned was very poor. Clearly Samsung should take responsibility for who they employ but it also means that such issues can be isolated to areas that employ that particular repair company.
Mine was also one of the affected dryers. They sent me an email last week advising the repair wouldnt be till May or I could buy a new model for £99 (RRP £299). That model didnt fit and the door opened the wrong way so I spoke to them and got a different model free of charge. It was delivered yesterday and they took the faulty one away. All in all I would say given mine was a 7 yr old machine they did pretty well. Why not call them and ask for a free replacement. They are swapping over 80,000 machines.
