Not sure if this is a fantastic deal or not but someone who wants to pick up a cheap and half-decent GPU in-store today might not do to bad with this.
Saw it in the bargain bin at the exit of PC World on the Thurrock Retail Park.

Save over £10?! Wow! You're saving.. £10.01! :stuck_out_tongue:
(Not having a pop at you OP, only Currys shameless marketing!)

That's a standard 750, rather than a 750 Ti. Around 15% less powerful.

Image shows the non-Ti version; title of thread may need correcting.

750 1gb no good at high settings

Updated, doesn't seem like much of a deal now I've realised it's a non-ti. :disappointed:

makes it useless with 1gb vram but I wish I knew they were at a further 50% discount, I was handling one the other day

I was there today again by chance and the card was still there. The discount needs to be asked as it is written on the basket. I grabbed it this time, lol. Same as an AMD 6950 but 1gb instead of 2gb still a great bargain and does not need more than 1gb for the power it does output. Good for a micro system.

To be honest I'd pay the extra and get the TI version. Sometimes saving a few extra quid just isn't worth it.

At 50% less than this price that card is a bargain so I'd grab it while you can.

Are these cards or the 750 Ti 2GB any good for output to HDMI on 4K TV?
I don`t play games at all, only want it to connect my desktop PC to new 43 inch LG TV which has HDMI 2.0
I just want to have windows 8.1 running at full 4K resolution so I can see more detail on screen in photo editing in Lightroom, plus watch movies in 4K via my desktop PC. Zero interest in games.

This was the last nVidia chip to not support HDMI 2.0. If you want [email protected] over HDMI you have to pay the extra for either an active adapter (it'll do it over DisplayPort) or a GTX 950.

If anyone wants a faster Geforce 480 GTX for the same price then let me know

For that kind of price, I'd rather look at the second hand market. You could grab yourself a GTX 670 for that price.

Yeah there's always people upgrading. I recently picked up a Gigabyte 750TI twin fan Black Edition for £60. Super quiet, cool at full pelt and 40w at idle.

Ok for living room PC to handle 4k video and a few light games you might play with friends on a booze up.

Not a brilliant deal. My low profile kfa 750 ti 2gb OC was £89 nov 2014 from overclockers, £49 would be more realistic for this.

gtx 750 ti still holding at around £90 now - even on ebay

these baskets came with a 50% off until a week ago, I got one at £32.50 and offer is now ended. Nice card same power as the amd6950 if not better but 1gb vram.

I know, its in competition with the Wii u in holding its price. Difference is people are still buying the 750ti as there isn't an alternative if like me your using a low profile HTPC case.

It will play everything at 1080p (new stuff will need some settings turned down) - and its by quite some margin got some of the best power efficacy on modern GPUs. If you want a general use card that does gaming, and that doesn't use a lot of juice, and at low cost, this is a great deal.

Pointless unless you only play old games.
Anyone playing modern games need a 970+ to enjoy them properly.
Suppose you could play dont starve on this.

correct, I also had the 480 reference and was super hot, I believe was using around 250w. that is only at most 10%better in game than this basic 750, consumption is very low at around 50w, does not even need a power supply cable, it feeds from the motherboard. 1gb vram but it would have benefitted from a couple hundreds more MB
