£350 for some speakers with a bluetooth adapter built in, what am I missing? serious Q, I dont know much about these but a lot of people seem to have them. I'm trying to work out why someone would spend £250 over what they should.

Now £380 plus £10 delivery - still better than elsewhere but certainly not as good as I'd hoped.

Are you sure? The guy in the shop said I was getting genuine noodly appendage to play my music through. Even explained to me that the cables at the back of my TV gravitate naturally to the form of the FSM.

Can't persuade myself it would improve my listening experience over the £5 cable I use to plug an old iPod in to my speakers.

Might be a good price but it's one ugly mother compared to its predecessor!.

You think? I find the 2nd gen better in all areas. Only negative I know of is the lack of headphone port, but few people use that anyway.

Received two of these today after ordering them yesterday from Sonic Direct, rang them up - they had no problems at all with me buying over the phone at the in-store price. Absolute bargain really, I had ordered through bestavdeals but cancelled when I saw this price, apparently many others were doing the same thing - the guy from bestavdeals said the trade price is £286 on these so Sonic would seem to be making barely anything if the trade price is accurate.

Just called after John Lewis wouldn't price match (I live in the Midlands) and was able to buy over the phone and pay £10 express delivery. Well chuffed @£359 total!

Well ok, I was only considering playback of music on the device already - a Bluetooth receiver plugged into the Sonos unit via line in would effectively add Bluetooth support.

So how do you play youtube or say a playlist from a 3rd party software like poweramp.

I have the 1st gen Sonos 3 & 5 and can't see why it was put to £429 in the first place. Love my sonos but actually annoyed they haven't just added bluetooth technology alongside their wifi streaming powers but even then £429 seems over the top (to me).
Not rating hot or cold, just saying my piece

Why would you need Bluetooth when the app on any phone or tablet afaik does 'from this device' playback?

I've paid between £200-250 for second hand ones and they've been completely error free. Don't knock second hand kit. I've been a Sonos owner for 5 years now and 75% are second hand (14 units) and never had a problem. Once you're past two years you're on your own anyway

This is a good price for 2nd gen !!!(although I don't like the monopolized (sp) App)....
just as a comparison JL tried to sell me a 1st gen 2year product display unit for £289 saying that was a great price just before christmas?
and you still got mad people buying second hand 1st gens for £250+ with no warranty??? some people!!
