Cut it up and freeze the stuff in 2 ounce portions and defrost a portion, break it up in the pan and fry with your eggs and bacon!

Don't think that can be the case or you wouldn't be able to buy liver or kidney, etc. Its just not the same out of a plastic tube at Christmas and the New Year. Although this is my favourite haggis brand.

if youre grossly obese and need to lose weight, then buy their vegetarian version of this, you'll lose your faith in food, absolutely disgusting!

Hard Rock Cafe in Edinburgh do their 'local burger' with a burger then the same size slice of haggis. Added that meaty spice flavour. Recommended and easy to copy at home.

Thanks for that spinks, will try it next time visit Edinburgh, went to Wetherspoon's by Leith walk last time there and they serve Mcsweens, very nice!

A little research suggests the Macsween used ox intestine as a casing and supply is problematic, particularly after the BSE outbreak and restrictions. Was still buying it a couple of years ago so doesn't make complete sense.

Got the vegetarian one in Tesco for £2 (last week) - it was the same price for the meat version.
Might have been a manager's special/store specific/instore only, but worth a quick look if in Tesco.
We got it when we were up in Edinburgh at the store in Hermiston (near start of M8).

I prefer the traditional one myself, but daughter wanted to try vegetarian version before feeding it to her student friends at uni up there (hopefully she'll still have those friends after feeding them :laughing: ).
