That's the same res as the 29 inch. Would only be worth if it was 3440.

I think you mean 1440p. Personally I'd prefer 1440p on this monitor too although it wouldn't be 21:9 aspect ratio then I think. Games such as Dota 2 don't like the aspect ratio of this monitor too, so you can expect some HUD problems in games.
if you were thinking of a 27", remember that this 29" is going to be nearly 2" shorter, 7" less display area and be the same size as a 23" when displaying 16:9 content (films or games that can't deal with ultrawide).
still a good price if you want this specifically, just a pointer in case you were expecting more usable space

No bro i mean 3440x1440. Thats 21:9 aspect ratio still. 1440p is 2560x1440 which is still 16:9

I was really tempted to get an ultrawide monitor, but was surprised by the reduced screen area compared to a 16:9 27" monitor (which I eventually settled for). If going for an ultrawide, I would have wanted a 34", but the additional cost put it out of my reach.
Before buying, I'd take the time to pop into a PC World (or wherever) and take a look at the screen to see for yourself.

Depends on your usage really, if you're the kind of person who usually uses 2 16:9 monitors then it's damn good as a single screen replacement. Been dying for a dual monitor setup with ultrawides to replace my 3x21" setup but for productivity only curved is really worth it for me having seen both flat and curved dual ultrawide setups. Although I'd probably end up keeping my 3x21's and mounting them above the ultrawides anyway. Can never have too much screen real estate.

Crazy price for this monitor, I remember when I was about to drop £299.99 for this months ago.
Shame that the 144hz versions of Ultrawide are so expensive (£900~), I could never go back to 60hz, it's so laggy!

FreeSync range for anyone interested (unmodded) is 48-75Hz.

They are the same price at Amazon, I picked one up on the £10 off day on Friday (so I paid £234.98); it was delivered this morning (yes, on Sunday) on their standard free delivery option. Also, you CAN edit the monitor driver file so that it has a wider freesync range. The instructions are a bit complicated, but someone has made the finished file available on the net. It gives 32-75Hz range.
Extremely good value for money, costs the same amount as my dell 25" IPS 1440p monitor. Was considering selling this and getting the ultrawide but I don't think I can part with 1440p.

Yep I do have the lg34um57 and couldn't be happier with it for games, movies and work. Its running at 2560x1080, 75hz. I got it for £315 from box.co.uk. Shame cos it's gone up to £357 now. It is available for £310 from
heated added as a good deal, but you get what you pay for and this really isnt a good ips monitor. id never pay 100 let alone the offer price

I bought this monitor last week and have to say its bloody awesome and im coming from a BenQ 144hz. With freesync on this monitor goes up to 75hz and considering this is an IPS panel the games look amazing with NO ghosting watsoever. Well worth the price.

I would warn buyers of this, or the 34", that mine only came with an HDMI cable and a power brick and UK power lead for that. Not even the audio cables that the eBuyer listing says it has; but the included items checklist DOES say that these are optional extras. No DVI cable, no displayport cable.

If you are looking for a decent price on a 6 foot DP cable, the do a Google search for the Eizo PP200-BK, which can be had from £2.99 inc delivery. These are DP certified and have chokes, locks and decent cable sleeves.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, commonly known as the United Kingdom (UK) or Britain,[nb 4] is a sovereign state in Europe. Lying off the north-western coast of the European mainland, it includes the island of Great Britain—a term also applied loosely to refer to the whole country—the north-eastern part of the island of Ireland and many smaller islands.
In reality this is just a extra wide 24" 16:9 screen.. You will probably be disappointed if you were after a big screen!
I know I was coming from a 28" 16:10 this size seems tiny. A 34" Super widescreen might be better.

Well, I have mine sat next to my old LG 24", and the height is much the same. The fonts are much crisper and easier to read. The color is eye-poppingly good. And the difference in games, the color and the lack of ghosting ....

Yes indeed, this is just a wider version of a 24". But the pixel density is just right. I have seen a similar sized monitor that is 1440 pixels high (I think) and the text was too small for me. I think that if I wanted to go higher, it would have to be quite a bit taller, and I am not sure how many big IPS panels there are out there.

Its a great price for something so large.....I went the cheaper route of just buying 2 cheaper monitors. How would games be displayed in this? I thought most only do 16:10 or 16:9?

I took a trip into PC World today to check out an ultra widescreen. Turns out it's like looking at two 13" screens welded side by side, far too small. The ONLY reason I'd consider this is if I was getting 5 of them to go portrait, which puts it way outside my price range. Saying all that, it's still a deal despite my unwillingness to bite, heat added.
