I'm new to this Lego dimensions business. Do these unlock worlds on the main disk? Or are they just characters to use?

Amazon have now price matched these. Also some of the other packs are cheaper than GAME.

​But it does allow access to the Adventure world for that characters franchise (i.e Jay Fun Pack gives access to Ninjago Adventure world). The starter pack already gives you access to DC Comics world, Lego Movie world and LOTR world, so the other packs in this deal are just for the characters and vehicles.

For extra worlds you require the "Level Pack" all the fun packs do is allow you to use a special ability for the character you bought for example you need the ghostbusters characters to get rid of ghosts which unlock a new path or wonderwoman who can break half broken walls. Each character has it's own special ability which as you play the game you won't be able to access some of the level meaning you can't collect all bonus items for example.
