HP Thermal Inkjet technology
It's Thermal Inkjet technology, not a thermal printer.
Most consumer inkjet printers, including those from Canon, Hewlett-Packard, and Lexmark, use the thermal inkjet process. In the thermal inkjet process, the print cartridges consist of a series of tiny chambers, each containing a heater, all of which are constructed by photolithography. To eject a droplet from each chamber, a pulse of current is passed through the heating element causing a rapid vaporization of the ink in the chamber and forming a bubble, which causes a large pressure increase, propelling a droplet of ink onto the paper (hence Canon's trade name of Bubble Jet).

I've got a second-hand printer HP printer and am running out of ink, just wondering if it might be cheaper to buy this new one as it comes with ink as well, rather than just getting replacement ink for the printer that I have got.

Wow, that's cheap. It feels like these printers are becoming disposable: Run out of ink, replace the whole printer!

I'd say for the last 15 years, maybe more, theres been various printers that have been around this price, and cheaper than the "genuine" inks needed to refill them.

I thought thermal printers didn't use ink cartridges, like my Brother Label printer doesn't....maybe Im confused, or maybe the description given is a little wrong/misleading

Anyone know if HP300 inks would fit? My HP is broken but still have some inks.

I suspect not - upthread it implies it takes HP301 as well as the advertised HP 302. I have a HP Deskjet (not this one) which takes HP301 but NOT HP300s due to different size cartridges.

I'm not sure this things worth it considering no wifi,/ its an hp / youll need to skip it once the inks dry and/or run out

Am I being thick? This is £19.99 not £22.96?? And numerous mentions in comments of 4% TCB but nobody has pointed out that Quidco is 10%.....
So unless I am being thick (genuine possibility!) Then this printer is potentially £18 after quidco (or TCB highest cashback guarantee). so about £4 cheaper under scrutiny than the post suggests

Thankyou. My previous printer just died and saw this model for £30 in tesco and was considering. Ordered this deal instead. The ink seems reasonable compared with my previous and good if two types for.
