I would assume it doesn't have a dedicated graphics card, so it will have Intel HD graphics 530. There are hardly any performance differences between this and low end dedicated graphics cards. So it might be worth considering, since the battery life would be significantly better than one with a dedicated card. For me it is a deal breaker, since I use my laptop at home only, and would like the performance of a high end card.

Cold huh. Look forward to you providing an alternative with same specs and dedicated graphics for the same price.

Cold no dedicated graphics

Specs say Intel 530 though features says:

I have bought it on 28 December 2015, and its perfect for me , no issue because it has 6th generation Quad core processor with 6700HQ, I've bought this for programming purposes as i'm a software developer, and simply it is more then enough for me, great spec for this price, the drawback is just the it back cover is poor quality means if you turn off the light you can see the light coming from the back cover visible, although no problem for me and for work purposes it is more then good,

Different brands. Could be a big difference in other areas. Build quality, screen, speakers, keyboard, trackpad, cooling, etc.
Had a friend have a PCSpecialist laptop, and it was very noisey (fan) and ran hot.

Then there is no much big difference between WiFi: 802.11ac ( Max : 1300 ) and WiFi: 802.11n ( Max 600 ) as you have 200mbps

I started the original thread on these ,have since found out there's no dedicated graphics,the screen is not IPS and very poor,no AC WiFi,also no backlit keyboard,all these things were originally advertised on Curry's site!!

99% Currys/PCW will NOT honour your order only will cash order and refund you several days later.

My guess is they try and see how many pre-orders they can get and try to get them from manufacturer who cares if they dont succeed they just refund the herd.

Well no, it would only used the "battery eating, heat producing" dedicated graphics for games, it would use the less power hungry intergrated graphics for your desktop stuff (unless you tell it to use the decated gfx)

If you game, don't buy. If you want an everyday laptop with hi-res screen and a fast processor for internet and home office use, this is hard to beat for value. As for the narrower than expected viewing angle - I sit with mine directly in front of me so it's no issue. Bought online, I read the description on their advert and the backlit keyboard and graphics card was not included in the actual buying page. They are mentioned the the specifications for the entire range of this model but the individual pages for each separate sub-model the details are correct. For a 6th gen i7 with a good graphics card and backlit keyboard you'd expect to pay £200 more for anything but the worst brands, For an HP of this specification i rate it as a good deal, and I work in IT

Can someone that has this laptop comment on the battery life? Also, has anyone tried upgrading RAM or HDD. Really thinking about purchasing one so any general comments would be appreciated. Thanks

Even the built in GPU for gen 6 intel cores will probably cover a decent amount of folk for a bit of light gaming. It's not going to run anything too intensive with all the bells and whistles and certainly won't be totally stutter free. For some VERY light gaming duties it'd probably do for some folks though. It's roughly equivalent to a 920M.

There is a difference however if you regularly transfer large files to and from your AC enabled laptop to a server or NAS box for example that would almost certainly be connected via a gigabit LAN port.

For the specifications, the price is hot.

I just do not know how is the build quality, screen, keyboard etc. Per HP website, the screen is FHD IPS anti-glare, it could be good which is promising.

On the other hand, it is a HP consumer laptop, which is not very promising.

or don't use Windows remove windows 10 all together and use Linux. brings down the price similar to this deal.

As I've already stated the screen is NOT IPS ,it is a very poor AU OPTRONICS TN type panel,i have checked 2 different machines using device manager to get the type

You may be right. Even higher model HP Envy got bad screen as people reported.

As far as I know the only HP laptop come with good screen is their highest model Ultrabook HP Spectre X360 comes with 13.3 inch IPS FHD or UHD screen.

My MSI i7 laptop has both Intel built in graphics and a dedicated nvidia card, but I have never actually bothered to configure the dedicated card. The builtin seems fine (I don't run gpu intensive games). I think the Nvidia card is unused. I'm on Linux btw.
