Very informative comment....now, would you mind explaining why? I thought they were a decent brand?

I've just replaced my 7.5 kg Hoover washing machine and I'll echo other comments. Yes it did last about 7 years, however, a couple of repairs have been necessary to keep it going. First the door seal had to be replaced after it started ripping clothes. Then the blockages. I've take to taking it apart every couple of years just to free blockages even with cleaning out the filter monthly I(It doesn't seem to catch everything). Finally the water pump sensor has gone so does not drain at all. I also agree with the unsightly rust that develops in places with the paint peeling off.
Compared to the first machine I had (Candy that lasted 13 years), the Hoover gave me too much trouble. I've gone for a Bosch (which best buy) from AO (best online supplier) for approx £100 more. Fingers crossed

Have had two hotpoint washing machines in last 4 years one being replacement after first one broke after 13 months. Can honestly say will never ever buy another hotpoint.Cannot wait for the one I have to stop working it leaves my clothes in shreds and the smell unless you do an empty 90degree wash once a week is horrific.Have complained to hotpoint who sent out an engineer who said its because I live in a hard water area.I have lived in house for 28 years and this problem never happened with any other make of washer, also have a hotpoint dishwasher that sits besides washer and no smell comes from that.Engineer just repeated "you live in a hard water area"

I'm 90% certain the Beko will outlast the Hoover. I have a Beko 8kg one running 5-7 times a week for the past 4 and a half years, hasn't missed a step.
