Good specs for the money but
"Android 4.1 - Jelly Bean - The latest Google OS."? in 2012!

Exactly why I voted cold, the specs sound good, but the OS is too old, even KitKat is pushing it really, it should be at least Lollipop now for any Android tablet over £40 in my opinion.
Oh wow, a tablet 33% cheaper running an OS 3 years newer is getting more heat? Who would have thought it? In case you only care about Android, you can apparently put Android 4.4.4 on a Linx tablet, so would still have an OS 2 years newer by swapping to Android and that wasn't even supported out of the box on the Linx.

Tempted to try but thinking graphics performance at that resolution will be an issue

Yeah I was thinking that, maybe if you lower the resolution abit even down to hd would still be decent for the price?.
Don't think it got Gorilla glass though... Possibly Macaque or Chimp.

Cheap media player with added portability. Seems good value to me.

I got one for a birthday present coming on for 18 months ago. Only comes with Amazon, but I found a play installer on Modaco, but this link is now dead. Other than that it has been very good and feels fairly good quality. Cannot fault for the price, OS is getting on a bit now and no updates. I am a PC/Laptop person, but I use it regularly with Plex and Now TV.

I assume you can just install the latest OS manually, or any OS you want yes? For example Lollipop or KitKat?
