I have been looking around for a 40 inch tele for around £400-£500. Found this 4K 49 inch tele for a £500 with WiFi, all the Smart facilities and 4K upscaler. Looks like a good deal to me with 5 year warranty.
I might price match with JL as I like their customer service. If anyone has better deals in this price range for 4K 49inch tele, please let me know as I will be buying a tele soon.
Hope this deal help others.

Looking at the American version of the 600 series which appears to be the 6000 series over there all LG's are 60Hz in the true term. Manufacturers these days are giving all sorts of "false" rates which seem to get higher each year yet the true values are the same as the year before. I wonder how car manufacturers would get away with claiming their 100bhp engines from last year now produce 200bhp yet they are no faster with top speed or acceleration.
I would guess this model has a 60Hz panel but I could find out for certain if I had the full product code.

Yeah but as you say 1080p, its a grand more for the current UHD model and he emitted light difference needs to be considerably higher for HDR and that's the main problem now with OLED, if you view that TV yes its a lovely looking screen but it is rather dark even with the brightness cranked right up, not an issue if viewed in a darkened room but not ideal in daylight, for HDR they have to glow much brighter, the new E6 is going to be around £4000 they recon with the absolutely gorgeous G6 models start around the £6k+ mark tho the top of the range 77" is rumoured to be coming in around £40k!

13 Jan 16#55
Yeah you might be right. However I was surprised that you can now get a curved OLED 55-incher with a 5 year warranty for £1.3K (slightly cheaper at Currys), but of course only Full HD:
Think that's a bit of wishful thinking mate, I doubt OLED will be hitting anywhere near the grand mark until other manufacturers catch up with OLED production. LG pretty much has the OLED market to itself currently, other manufacturers OLED TV's mainly use LG screens so they are controlling the market. The price drop with LCD based TVs is a totally different situation, manufacturers have mastered production so production yelds are high and waste levels low, OLED is still very difficult to manufacture in large screen sizes even for LG but they have said that it has improved considerably over the past couple of years, other manufacturers are nowhere near the level LG are at - LG recon they are at least 2 years ahead of everyone in the market.

I have seen the HDR ones in currys (yes I go there for window shopping then come home to shop online :innocent:) .
They had the HDR ones put right next to ones without HDR. The difference was amazing. Unfortunately, they are way out of my budget. If I was in your place I would wait as well. My TV has broken down, so I need one. I am going to Richersounds this weekend. If they can provide me a 5 year warranty, I might buy it from them as their store is not far away from me.

Good point. HDR makes a huge difference to picture quality.
Personally my 'holy grail' TV would have 4K+ HDCP2.2 +OLED+HDR and be around 55 inches, currently all TVs with these specs appear to be over £2000.
Hopefully drop to sub-£1000 towards the end of this year, and then I'll bite. Not an unrealistic expectation given the way 4K LED LCD's s dropped in price from last year. Until then I'll make do with my 6 year old LG 47-inch panel.

LG aren't dropping the price much with OLED, they seem to be concentrating on upping the quality. That said 2015 sets will be reduced soon as LG have shown the new top end 2016 sets and announced another 4 cheaper versions (ie under £5k).

If it WEBOS 1 or 1.4 I would suggest your try it in a shop first if you can find one. The WEBOS 01 updated to 1.4 on my 50LB650v is better since the update however there are some things that I don't like what LG have done compared to my previous LG tv's. The main thing I hate is if you access the tv guide say whilst watching bbc1 and then scroll down using the down arrow button you get to the bottom of the screen which is channel 5 and then to make it go over onto the next page you have to press ok. If you just press the arrow key nothing happens. The same happens if you want to scroll right or left within the guide and also you have to do this in some of the picture settings also. It is totally alien to any other tv I have ever owned including LG's. This may be only a small issue to some and anyone who uses a sky or virgin box won't find this a problem but after a year with this tv I still find it frustrating.
The WEBOS 2 which I tried on the 770v seems a lot more responsive compared to my own tv and I liked the magic remote feature. It's super fast compared to mine and a much need improvement.
One thing I will say on my WEBOS tv is after ditching the wifi of the tv and plugging it in wired to my router makes a huge difference. For info it takes 8 or 9 seconds to access iplayer which then if you come out of it and then back in, it loads immediately. Just tried viewing a couple of programmes on iplayer and about another 8 seconds for them to start playing. Personally I think that's very good. Not sure how that compares with Samsung, Sony etc. Demand 5 though was about 40 seconds. Some channels are quick to load and some not so.
Overall I am not a big lover of the piano keys associated with webos although you can customise where you want the keys to be and your recently used apps always appear first. As a smart tv I don't use it as I find my youview box easier and more efficient overall yet for bbc iplayer the LG is better.
It's each to their own I guess but £499 isn't a lot to pay for a brand named 49" tv with a 5 year warranty. 4k doesn't interest me one bit at this point in time but on the 600 series LG's it is rumoured that they cannot offer a true 4k experience due to the extra white pixel that LG have introduced on their panels. Those are technical experts words and not mine and not too sure if the 695 has the white pixel or not but at £499.00 who cares and if you sit more than 5 feet away from the screen you may just not benefit from a 4k experience anyway.

Fair enough, apart from the occasional sluggishness when using the smart features on my TV ( and I'm probably being picky ) it's a brilliant unit and was worth every penny for me anyway.
This is a good price but unless you've got worries about the retailer I'd stick with them as they are doing the deal and its with a 5 year warranty too - I'm no fan of getting other retailers to price match others however it's a fair amount of money to part with so I can understand to an extent why you may want to.
Whilst your at it see if they can throw in a magic remote' well recommended with the LG Smart TVs ( £30 online ) if you don't ask you won't get

I have the 40" version of this TV which I bought between Christmas and New Year for £355 from the Co-op. I've been pretty impressed with it, especially with a 4K source (UHD trailers, etc via an Nvidia Shield TV). One thing I have noticed is that the screen looks green-ish rather than black when listening to Radio on the connected Humax Freesat HD box. I'm guessing this is some kind of backlight bleed, but it doesn't bother me too much as this is not my main TV.

A question about the 5 years warranty with this company. What happens if you do not register it with LG within the first 28 days? Do you lose the warranty itself? Surely thats cant be possible as if they have advertised it on their website they need to provide it correct? I would much appreciate a response from somoene in the know about this.

I don't think you have to register the tv to qualify for the 5 year warranty as the TV is sold with the warranty irrespective.
I've had two LG tv's neither of which I registered with LG' I had a fault on one a few years back and got in touch with Costco ( where I bought it ) and they sent somebody out to repair it straight away under warranty with no questions asked as obviously they had a record of it and I had my receipt.
That was with Costco but I can't see why any other retailer would be any different.
