We've interfered in their countries willy nilly, bombed them from the skies while snuggled up behind a remote desk in UK, and terrorised their entire population for decades and continue to do so. They've never done to us what we've done to them, and now, we have a nerve to blame them for their own problems. In school we are taught a law of science "every action has a reaction", and unfortunately, this reaction is due to our foreign policies.

You are way more likely to drown yourself in the bath by accident than become a victim of terrorism. Your fear of travel is merely symptomatic of the power of the media. The powers that be like a frightened population, it makes you easy to manipulate.

Your comment is completely unnecessary and just shows how easy you have it in the comforts of a Western country. Maybe you should consider those who are currently dying from the cold and starvation, after having to flee from scenes more horrific than you could even imagine.

Sounds so appealing. The very real risk of being stuck on the M20 for operation stack, or in the tunnel itself while some Syrian is being fished out of it, then when you get there crazy French strikers setting fire to the Motorways, threats of ISIS attacks in Paris and Brussels and then on the trip home the chance of becoming an unwanted taxi driver as all sorts of people try becoming your new passenger.
Can't understand why they reduced it really???

That was pretty much my thought, I find it scary that I feel safer on our island, a few years ago I would travel all over the place. And now this occurs to me.
On topic, good deal. Heat

Nice try, but have you tried doing Paris or Brussels in a day? By the time you got there, you'd have to turn back to catch the last ferry.
Also, I've been to France many times on the ferry, never had a problem with chancer migrants or seen any sign of trouble. Best stay in the north.

Rant over? What about the deal in question.

All that bombing we did in Eritrea, Sudan and Ethiopia must have caused the 'migrants' to travel across half the world, through numerous safe countries to arrive on our shores.
Hot deal BTW. I usually pay around £95 for a return trip with Eurotunnel.

You have a point, to a (very small) degree, but as far as I'm concerned any sympathy I may have had went out of the window long ago. If you're truly fleeing for your life then why on earth wouldn't you claim asylum at the first safe country you come to? It's EU and I believe international law, yet they don't - they pass through numerous 'safe' countries until they get to the country they want - whether that be the UK, Germany, Sweden etc. I'm sorry but that means they're economic migrants, not refugees, plus we haven't bombed Sudan, Somalia, Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Eritrea, and, until very recently, not even Syria, although of course our involvement in destabilising a previously fairly stable and secular country to a certain 'agenda' hasn't helped.
On the subject of the actual deal, it's a good price (although a standard offer they give every so often and have been for years), but people shouldn't scoff at the concerns some have expressed. I used to regularly go over on the train every 3 or 4 months up until 2 or 3 years ago. It just got stupid in the end - if you weren't at risk of having people smuggle themselves into your car/van, whether you're in the vehicle or not (yes, they really are that stupid that they think you don't know that they're trying to get into your back door or boot when you're sitting there in traffic!), you're at risk of having a serious accident due to people walking on the hard shoulder (and even on the motorway itself) for miles either side of Calais.
They even purposely jump out or throw objects to try to stop vehicles and intimidate/distract drivers to allow others to jump on board. The joke is that they'll probably avoid injury - the natural instinct when driving would be to steer and avoid somebody in the road, meaning you're in danger of losing control of the vehicle when pulling off sudden movements at speed.
These concerns are REAL - I know, because I've not only witnessed it, I've almost hit several people myself and I've had my car hit (and dented) by an object from some of these people! And from what I know it's much worse now. So yes it's a good price, but personally I have no intention of running the gauntlet with these migrants ever again. Plus the French hate us anyway.
