Good price with free delivery for these character themed PDP wired controllers. They are similar to the popular Gamecube controllers.
*** IMPORTANT UPDATE 8th Jan ****
Amazon.Fr are selling those for 13.00 EUROS EACH + DELIVERY. To buy both controllers is 31.93 EUROS inc. shipping - this works out at GBP £24.63 for both controllers delivered - BARGAIN!!! http://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00PFWXJE2/ref=pd_luc_rh_sim_01_01_t_img_lh?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So in summary, if you want 2 of any controller or 1 of each, can save a few quid more by buying from Amazon.Fr (credit to RudeBullit for this find).
Not everyone is a fan of these controllers, as some question the quality compared to the more expensive Pro controllers. Some find them a bit flimsy and even breakable and dislike they have a cable. Probably not the best choice for Super Smash Bros.
I personally love them, find them very comfortable and I like the cheap prices :) They play great with Mario Kart 8 and platform games.
NOTE: The PDP controllers plug into your Wii U remote. So they are wireless of sorts. I quite like this myself as means no additional faffing around with battery charging etc. They are also very responsive.

The themed pads and remotes really make it so much more fun, the kids love them! I have the Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi themed PDP pads and they really do match up well in appearance with the same character remotes which I also have.
Have the Wario/DK PDP pads also but am perhaps naively waiting for the same character remotes to be released. There is hope with the new Bowser (COOL) and Toad remotes Nintendo recently released.
Will probably buy this Toad PDP pad also which is just about to be released, as can at least be matched up to the new Toad remote.

Technically speaking they are Wired Gamecube controllers, as this is how they are branded and they replicate the popular Gamecube controllers. The Pro Controller is in all honesty a better quality product in terms of how it is manufactured, but is a fair bit more expensive. Is also totally wireless.
These controllers work just like classic controllers and will work with any games that support the "classic controller". It would be easier to list what games these PDP controllers don't work with, than what they do work with. Must work with 99% of Wii U games that they are compatible with?

HI, does it plug into the usb port on the Wii U?
Also random question - does anyone know if you can you use 2 of the large gamepads on one console?
