Blue bosch with 2 batteries for £100 or with one 3A battery from screwfix for £90 may be better (for more money, but you also get more).

It's for people to make up their own minds. Depends on it's usage. I'd probably go for the Bosch, tho' I'm thinking lots of use.

I'm pretty sure it's much the same as the more expensive 18V Dewalt's just that the price reflects in those as higher amperage batteries. This doesn't have to be seen for use solely (or even) for site builders.

Ha ha. Try the power tools for beginners section, my friend.

This Dewalt poseur It is a nasty pathetic little drill. Noddy and all his toy town friends like it though.

Why is this HOT? It is a miserable drill with 1 inadequate battery that has 1 hour charge time. Rest of specs mean it is rusbbish too. Wait for the Stanley FAT max to come around if you do not have a need for pro drills.

The fatmax deals have come and gone. This is next best at price.

Exactly ! Stanley drill with 2 × 2.0 batteries and 3 years warranty for around £70 when in promo is probably the best value drill... just wait a bit for next "half price" offer at homebase:)

You mean Makita 457  You can also get an additional battery for the Dewalt at £20 from ebay. One seller example

Is this makita with 2 batteries for £28 more worth it over this.
Makita are miles better than Dewalt aka (Black & Decker) but beware the drill in your link is a cheapo Makita version made to a budget for B&Q , It uses its own non standard batteries that are not interchangeable with other Makita LXT products or chargers.

42nm torque - not bad at all for the price - hot for DIY

I would not get the makita 457 from b&q. Its battery is not compatible with most of the makita standard tools as it's a b&q special edition.

Same as any Li-Ion then. They're designed like this, for good reason.

Comes with only 1 battery - reason for £70, also only 1 year warranty vs 3 years for Hitachi or Stanley...

Same for any battery operated device. If you need it for more demanding work buy another battery.

Good 'til it just dies without warning - flat battery. . . And no spare. 1.3 ah lowest cap. you can get. Buying a seperate battery is never as good value as when 2 are included.
The dewalt fanboys will vote this hot no doubt .
