The January sale has ended but the new promotion discounts some adventure/rpg titles. Some quite heavily like Demon souls which is about as cheap as its ever going to get.
Was hoping for Ni No Kuni but its not listed sadly.

Demon's Souls is a superior game to Dark souls.

Demons Souls is still the purest and best version of the genre/series - IMO.

If you haven't played this by now and are even remotely interested, for God's sake just buy it. One of the very best games ever made.

Them's fighting words!!!
In all seriousness though, whilst I personally don't agree, I could see why people might feel that way. Even now Demon's Souls is an amazing game and has aged very well.
A total bargain at this price.

All that game is wasted on a gaming buffoon like me, could barely get past the first skeleton monster thing... Would it really ruin the legacy to put on a cretin setting, for people of lower 3D gaming ability?

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus HD for £6.50 is also a great deal. Disc copies aren't cheap or easy to find.
Lots of Tales gamed on sale too but I have no idea where to start with that series!

Has been this price before in March and July last year. Worth it for sure if you intend to play it now. For me though, I've got such a large backlog that I'll hang tight for now

Demon's Souls is incredible, just buy it. No other game has an atmosphere like it, not even the Dark Souls sequels. I'll never forget trudging the through the dark poisonous swamps of the Valley of Defilement, and the relief I felt when I returned to the safe haven of the Nexus with its lovely relaxing harp music.

Great price for sure if you just want to play the game and don't mind digital download...however yesterday I bought Ducktakes Remastered on psn sale for £4 but immediately regretted since the disc beand new could be bought for £9..very tempting still..Demons Souls and Ico & Shafow of The Colusus Collection..but I guess I will stick to physical versions no matter what.

The way I look at it, if the disc version is more expensive then there's no point in buying it unless you plan on selling it on at some point. But then you've got to consider how much of a loss you're going to take on it when you sell it. If you bought Duck Tales for £9 and then sold it, I think you'd be lucky to clear £5 after postage and eBay fees, so you'd have lost £4 anyway and if you're going to spend £4 on it you might as well buy it digitally to own it forever and have the convenience of being to run it from the hard drive.
I've been trying to get ICO/Shadow of the Colossus for a while now. I'd pay £15 for that on eBay, so I'm quite happy to save the £8.50. Although that game has held its value pretty well preowned do I might not lose the whole £6.50 if I resold it but I know I'm not ever going to want to sell them on.

depends also on your "lifestyle" as a gamer,if you like to collect, and have a nice library of great games for display pleasure or just memory of the enjoyment you had with them, then digital is a big no no.
also resale value is rarely as as bad as the one you mentioned,it's always nice to know you have actually invested in something you can sell or trade or give to someone rather than paying for just having the right to use a digital file.
and worse than all...with digital you never own the game, you never know when they will take it down from their servers..it happened to me with few titles including After Burner Climax on PS3...
so overall, physical is the no brainer even if it's twice the price of digital imo.because digital is more like long term rental eventually.

I wasn't really arguing physical vs digital - if you're a collector and have to have physical copies, then so be it. I'm primarily a PC gamer, which is pretty much all digital these days, so most of my games are on Steam, but I do still have a few shelves worth of console games, including some limited editions, so I get collecting (although most of my collecting is in books and movies, so there's little shelf space left after those!). I was more talking about the no-brainer prices of digital sales. Let's say you pay £20 for a physical game, play it, finish it and want to sell it. You put it on eBay and get £15 total for it. You've got to pay eBay + Paypal fees (around 15% total) and post it out - you'll end up with £12.75. That means it's cost you £7.25 to effectively rent the game for however long you had it. Alternatively, if you paid £4 for a digital copy then, sure, you'll never see that £4 again, but that's better than never seeing £7.25 again - and not only do you still have the game, playing it is slightly more convenient.
So I'm not sure what you meant about resale value there - which one do you mean out the one that I mentioned? I mentioned 3 examples, and 2 were pretty good. Some games do hold their value, but most depreciate like crazy - most release at £40 and they never take long to reach £20 or lower - and you can't tell me that second hand games are rarely worth more than £4 less than new ones. If you could get a game brand new for £20, would you pay £18 for it on eBay or on here? You'd probably offer more like £15, or even less. Certainly you'd be very lucky to break even, selling used games for the price of new.
Perhaps the long term future of digital copies is a concern - God knows what would happen if Steam ever went down, hopefully we'd get enough notice to download everything and be given some way to play it offline. The generational leaping of consoles is slightly more concerning - I don't like the fact that the PS4 won't play PSX, PS2 and PS3 games I've bought digitally - I might have bought one already if that was the case. But, just like any old games, I can always keep my PS3 to play them so I'm not too concerned. As long as I have them on my HDD I'll be able to play them even if they were removed from the PSN servers. And, by the way, a quick Google search shows that, while After Burner Climax (is that a game or an STD? Seriously, what a terrible name) is no longer available for sale, if you've bought it you can still download and play it. I have no experience with that happening on PSN but that's always the case with Steam - games get pulled from sale due to licensing issues or whatever, but anyone who's bought them still has access.

Demons Souls in my personal opinion is the very best of the souls series. So much so that I was actually disappointed to hear that they were making Dark Souls 3 as I was praying for a Demons Souls 2 way more. That being said, I'm still hyped for Dark Souls 3, but Demons Souls is just the king in this series.

It was the first 'Souls' game I played. It was a real struggle to get into, but once you start getting into the world and get to grips with the mechanics you won't look back. These games aren't actually hard, they just require persistent players and reward them. Not for everyone, but for £4 give it a go.

Any souls/BB fan should give it a go.
I still think Demon's Souls is the hardest one (out of dark souls and bloodborne).
