Not sure if this is a quirk or not, current sale has an extra 10% off for the next 24 Hours (starting at Midnight). But when I added stuff to my basket it was only showing a total -£40 i.e spend exactly £40 and only pay shipping.
Not sure if they will honour it but I will see

I made 2 orders one for me one for my daughter as we can't afford to shop there normally even at half price. We were really looking forward to having nice underwear. I won't order again if this isn't honoured. So let down

So you never shopped at Ann summers and are threatening to never shop with them again?

You can contact them re the original order and they will fulfil it (where in stock) with the promotional 10% off too. Their recently added section on the FAQ's page states they will honour that particular promotion along with any free gift your order may have included.

I don't know, if they'd just cancelled without any explanation or just claimed items were out of stock (as is usually the case) I'd be annoyed. At least they've acknowledged that they messed up. You place an order like this and you're playing a game, chancing it, they've responded in that spirit.

I remember the perfume shop glitch was the best one and they honoured most orders. That was the first time i shopped with the perfume shop and since that glitch everytime i look to buy a perfume i buy through their website.
I have never bought from ann summer and would not think to buy from them. Not cancelling the order which annoyed me, but the way they responded.

4 Jan 16 #257
I don't like the way the email was phrased..... " gotta be in it to win it " , "nothing like a glitch to start the new year" , while not really apologizing or saying the glitch was their fault.

just out of curiosity whats to stop a company deliberately having a glitch , to get more people to look at their site / give details and then just cancelling orders ?

That was my thought too - it was a bit of a waste of a 'free' marketing email to a lot of potential customers (although obviously many just wanted something for almost-nothing). Explain what the correct offer should have been (they didn't) and then beat it a bit, eg. if it was £40 off a £150 order then offer £20 off a £70 order. The prize draw looks like it's a generic one sent to all customers.

Nothing like a promotional glitch to kick-off the new year!

Hi,

In the early hours of New Year’s Day, we suffered a technical issue with our website which saw customers’ baskets being discounted by £40.

Whilst we are very sorry for any inconvenience caused, in accordance with our Terms & Conditions orders placed at this time will not be processed.

Our finance bunnies are working hard to cancel and refund your order and rectify your online account. Due to the volume of orders we received and the time it takes for your bank to recognise the funds back into your account, this may take up to 7-10 working days. If you have any further questions or queries, please visit our FAQs page.

But because we know you love a bargain, enter our free prize draw to win £500 worth of Ann Summers goodies. You’ve gotta be in it to win it, right? Enter Here.

Love, AS x

I am not so sure this means anything. My payment also moved from "pending transaction" to the current transaction list on my credit card site (Capital One). It also says under transaction details: Transaction Date 01-01-2016, Posted On 03-01-2016. However this is standard for all transactions, and "posted" means to the account rather than dispatched (all transactions are in fact "posted", including for example in store spending). I haven't received a dispatch email, and on the AS website the status is still "being processed".
miikeyblue
3 Jan 16 #211

In the spirit of the season, those of us who get the goodies delivered could share them with attractive members of the opposite sex who unfortunately missed out.

I think it's quite competitive these days and, and doubt £10 would cover the costs of a £40 order, but I agree that placing an order with some "meat" on it is better than a 50p payment. Worth a shot for sure, but I suspect they will all be cancelled, it's an obvious minimum order error.

With most pricing errors in the past companies haven't honoured, like Amazon etc. Some might get through and get shipped but chances are the people fulfilling the orders will realise something doesn't add up and halt everything till they can see what's going on. NB If you are trying to put though an order of just over £40 so you end up paying 50p to a couple of quid for the order, there is a 99% chance your order will be cancelled - as this wouldn't even cover their P&P charges.

The profits in adult toys are enormous, so if you put through an order and end up paying (say) £5 to £10 plus, the chances are they will honour it as their costs are covered.

Don't say you wren't warned
