Good price for Low Self Discharge/Eneloop type batteries. I've owned these for some time and not had any problems. The Panasonics are listed elsewhere on HUKD, with the 8 AAA's costing £10.49, so 16 AA's for £13.99 seems a good deal.

Yes my local still has a few lying around, I think they do them about twice a year, well worth the money.

No have this charger is it good enough for this batteries? No point buying a new charger if this one would do the job
It depends on what you want. Yours will charge batteries (2 at a time or 4 at a time) but without any control over the charging current.
The ones we're talking about here are all intelligent chargers. They'll charge 1, 2, 3 or 4 cells at a controllable rate, with several other features also built in.
In the longer term one of these at around £20 will be a better bet for your batteries - and a lot more versatile. Don't get me wrong - I was using an ordinary charger until recently, but when I bought some Eneloops I decided to replace all the batteries in the house with them (70% of charge held for 5 years and rechargeable 2100 times) and get a decent charger to 'look after' them.
The difference is tangible - I wouldn't go back to a standard charger now.

That charger will charge batteries fine but the other more expensive model being talked about has functions to refresh older batteries/ reduce the effect of memory which slowly reduces the batteries' life and show you how much charge the batteries have etc. If you're just charging batteries once in a blue moon for kids toys then the cheaper one will do the job, but the more expensive one might be worth the extra if you're recharging on a very regular basis.

The UniRoss is even cheaper now on eBay... I'm tempted to get one...

The Uniross does look to be identical to the 7dayshop version, with apparently identical specifications - though I may have missed something. There's a 1000ma charge option which doesn't appear on the Technoline BC700 (but does on the BC1000). Both are probably excellent buys - they're physically slightly different from the Technolines, but look to have the same firmware.

Ah, just you'd posted it as a deal so was hoping you'd have more info. Thanks anyway.
That's cheaper on Amazon at the minute and I have to say, the UNiROSS looks identical to the 7Dayshop model...
I'd love to be able to give you an appraisal of it but since I don't have one that would be difficult. I do however have the excellent Technoline mentioned above and if you check out the specifications you'll see that it's not the same as the 7dayshop one. It's physically slightly different too, and not just the buttons. It's doubtless a fine charger though.

Hi, it's quite expensive but I use this Techno Line BL700 which you can control the charge rate, recondition batteries etc.
Do those special chargers have the ability to test capacity? If so, can someone post the results of the 7dayshop own brand batteries please?

Capacity is around 1750 to 2000 mAh which isn't too bad, it is the inconsistency between individual batteries that is the biggest issue with these - one battery will drain before the others.
All my Eneloops measure a capacity between 1850 and 1900 - they are just very well matched. Probably the ones that don't make it through strict QA process end up as these rebranded batteries.

Good batteries for the price but I've stopped using them and pay the extra for Eneloops.

I noticed the buttons are a different shape to my BL700, the description mentions 5v output to charge mobile phones, I don't think mine has that. They both charge/discharge/check the condition and capacity of the battery.

Please enlighten us then Newbold, I've asked for your appraisal of the 7dayshop unit previously but you've not replied to that request.

Lsd - Low self discharge. Normal rechargeables will discharge themselves once fully charged over a period of time. LSDs will hold a full charge more similar to say an alkaline battery.

Similar, but these two are not quite the same.

LSD batteries? Jeepers creepers,I thought I was seeing things.
I'm not sure if they've updated the Voltcraft unit to include a UK plug/adapter but the one that came with it was a bit of a Frankenstein job... fast forward to 3:00 in the video below to see the power 'adapter' they send it out with. If it's still coming out with that, I'd personally give it a miss.
Any recommendations for a good charger unit? Thanks

Or I've just spotted this one which looks identical to my Techno Line BL700 but is £8 cheaper. Still relatively expensive but it works well and can extend the life of your batteries.
