Approved Food is an online discount food retailer based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, in the United Kingdom. Approved Foods work by trading in products with a 'best before' date - basically just the manufacturer's guess of when the product will start to go off. But, as you probably experience all the time, the majority of products are still good to eat or drink well past that date (but don't worry, Approved Food don't sell chilled or frozen 'use by' products).
Approved Food then buy this stock in large quantities and pass those savings on to you. This applies to all sorts of groceries, many of which are major brands you'd usually shop for on a weekly basis. All you have to do is buy online, then Approved Food will pack it and deliver straight to you door!
One per person.
Voucher valid until 29th Jan 2016.
New Approved Food customers only.
Approved Food's T&Cs apply.
Delivery costs £5.99 for 1 box (1x25kg) £8.50 for 2 boxes (2x25kg boxes) of goodies; £4.50 per extra 25kg thereafter.

Really expensive for what they pay there stuff, out of date and short dated products are purchased for 10 percent or less of the rrp, inturn these people inflate rrps on there website and sell out of date stuff at massive profits claiming your saving 70 percent.I see products in home bargains, heron,or b and m selling in-date products for a lot less when eventually approved gets them when there about or to expire, approved food was cheap, now its just profiteering from all the free advertising it had from TV shows like bargain mad Britain.

this should give you a general idea of products and prices
Not bad. Indeed I agree with what you're saying. 99% of food is still edible past it's BBE date, even if it's moldy it can still be saved by cutting off the mold - not to say I've tried it but from a documentary I saw on TV.
I had some Bulmers two days ago and realised that it was 2/3 months out of "date", tasted fine. I hate people who instantly throw stuff out if it's on or a day past the BBE date.
The only quarm is that, what happens if say you're ill from this food? Obviously very slim chance but maybe the one or two items that get throw that could actually be out of date?

I don't think they sell anything that could hurt you from being out of date, like fresh meat. I have ordered from them and been really pleased. nothing tasted bad.

Thanks OP, just purchased. You have to be a new customer though so looks like other half is having it set up in his name. Ordered from here a few times myself, items state online the BBE date, so you do know what it is before buying. Nothing is sold past a USE BY date. I've had plenty of things that have come in date and never been ill.

This.
Three cans of out of date pop (pepsi etc) for 99p is not a great deal.I never pay more than £1.50 for a 6 pack .They are always on offer in at least one of the supermarkets for this price,or standard price at Home Bargains.

I have to agree with him though. I had a quick look through and a lot of the stuff went out of date around 3 months or so back, some things are even pushing 10 months! Even if things are one month out of date in B&M, they'd be massively reduced to much cheaper than prices here.
I've never seen things beyond a month of expiry in B&M, so Approved Foods is where it then gets sent I guess?
So yeah, if you have a B&M or Home Bargains nearby, just go there... better prices and in-date.
EDIT: Just an example of how you aren't really getting that many great deals - 460g of KP Jumbo Peanuts are £1 in Tesco at the moment. 320g of 9 month out of date KP salted peanuts cost the same at AF!

Yep. Shopping at places previously mentioned will get you in-date items for the same price, if not cheaper. I've been tempted in the past to place an order for orders sake just to try it. Not tempted with those prices though - especially including the delivery charge.

Bought a huge box of Fanta post-mix syrup from these guys. Past it's best before date, but theorised it was principally sugar - made myself glass after glass of Still Fanta for months after that.

just add the post-mix to soda water to make it fizzy. blimey...the courier may need a JCB to bring your stuff :smirk: that's a risk we may have to take, but i just rely on the senses i have and go from there

I have to agree with others, I placed a few orders with AF when they first started, they used to have great bargains with everything being extremely cheap, a real reason to buy. I've just had a quick look on their site now, and the offers aren't even that good any more, they have a few 'bargains' to rope you in but most stuff is standard price and looks to be more expensive than B&M, Home Bargains etc. I guess £15 off £20 spend makes up for that, but it's a shame they've gone down that route!

Agree, its gone downhill significantly. It used to be excellent for picking up dry goods, cous cous, stock cubes, canned foods but the days of these are now gone I feel. Having said that very very occasionally there are still enough keenly priced items to make an order worth it but it is very rare now. Sad really because it used to be great.

Try clearancexl a lot cheaper, hasn't as many items and hasn't updated over Christmas so not much in normally updates once a week.
Prices there are cheap like they used to be at approved foods
So there's competition were pointing out cheaper prices that's what this sites about
Most things can be found cheaper in date in other bargain store places,Dan has decided that he can get highly inflated prices for his stock that he gets so cheap especially almost out of and out of date products.

I've all but given up shopping at Approved Food because the prices have risen so much over the years BUT with in effect £15 of with the Wowcher I've found it will worth making an order this evening. I'd never try to do an "everyday" shop there, and I skim over all the junk food because it's not my thing, but tonight I'm well pleased with my stash of (in date, as it happens) organic UHT milk and plenty of (not in date, but spicy things in glass jars keep for years) cheap chilli and curry sauces.

Just a tip, avoid buying the Weight Watchers crisps 6 packs. I know they are tempting at 6 x 6 packs for £1, but they range from tasteless to stale playdoh, due to having a September 2015 BB date. Also some of the wafers on there do not taste nice because they're stale and not so crunchy anymore. but however, majority of the stuff there is fine, and some of the unique European snacks they get often are a really nice change from the usual.
