Cast iron casserole dish from Sainsbury's. Should have been £58.
Bought at the Kingsway Sainsbury's in Derby. Not sure if it's a national deal.

Got the same one at the Durham store a few months ago at the same price point. Very good quality

Yeah these crop up every few months... I noticed recently they were in cardboard boxes and priced at around £45 to £55 depending on size. When they sell them off cheap they're unboxed and have the odd chip and knock but that may be the careless shelf stacker I suppose (they do chip quite easily as I've discovered)
The latest batch have weird dimples on the inside of the lid, any ideas why?
Great at this price though.

Is that in the oval one? If so, they are there so that condensation gathers on the dimples then drips back down onto the chicken, basting it as it cooks. Enamel chicken roasters have those in the lids too.

I think its so the condensation drips evenly over the food below to stop the edges drying out?
I kinda pulled that out of my **** so could be completely wrong.

Doesn't everyone already have a casserole dish?

Yeah, because everyone is born owning one. "Everyone" has a phone, apparently some are still sold......

My son doesn't have one, but then he's only 5. When he leaves the nest he still won't have one.
