I am kind of in the market for a receiver but am a bit lost by the subwoofer out connection on this. Do you need to have a powered subwoofer for this? Could someone suggest a decent set of speakers in the £200 range for this? Thanks in advance.

I picked up the 579 earlier today for €339. Delivery expected on Saturday. Very pleased. Was everything I was looking for in an amp and a cracking price.

How does this compare to the DENON AVRX520BT for £179.95 from Richer Sounds?

Any extra charges for buying with a Barclays visa debit card? Do you just complete the purchase as you would on uk Amazon but just sign in on the French one? Never done this before, help appreciated!

I've just added it to my basket and gone through to the checkout - signing in with my Amazon UK account - and the total price including postage comes up as £162.80. Amazon does the conversion it seems.
My finger is poised over the 'pay in GBP' button!

Don't let Amazon convert, from what I have read (& experienced) it is cheaper to pay in the foreign currency & let your bank handle the conversion. Just sign in as you would with the UK website. I can also confirm that the other European Amazon sites have equally great customer services.

+1 for the advice above. I've just returned an Onkyo Amp to Amazon Germany that went bad within the year. Onkyo UK were not interested in fixing so sent back Amazon de who repaid shipping costs and full refund. They would have offered exchange too if they still had Amp in stock .. So don't let that hold you back :wink:

go to richer sounds and ask them to price match it. this is the entry model, all hard wired with av cables. no internet radio, no airplay, no multimedia play, no Bluetooth, no Spotify. 479 has them, well worth the extra €45, can be controlled through an Android/Apple device

It was a lightning deal down from €586 to €339. Must have only been a few of them available as it said 88% sold - only 1 left (which I bought). Figure out the math if you can :smiley:

That was a really good price! I ended up getting the 579 from Peter Tyson for £289 - comes with 3 year warranty and a free HDMI cable.

Expired, now showing as EUR 357.06

There were 8 of them by the looks of it! 88% should have been 87.5% but probably got rounded up.
