Xenoblade Chronicles 3D is only compatible with the New Nintendo 3DS and New Nintendo 3DS XL. Great Xmas Present!
The game follows Shulk and his band of friends as they search for answers about the mysterious "Monado" sword and defend their homeland from violent robotic creatures known as the Mechon. The game contains an open world design and strongly emphasizes exploration due to the world's large size. The game was very well-received by critics, with many citing it as a great example of innovation and improvement in a rather stagnant genre of Japanese role-playing video games.

The deal post reads like the game is not compatible with a 1st Gen 3DS or 3DS XL model bought say a year ago. Is that right?

Yes - you need the New 3DS / XL unfortunately.

Yep. Currently the only game that this applies to. The New 3DS has a slightly better processor which allows it to run this game.

I was really looking forward to this but even on my New 3DS XL it just felt too small and blocky really for the scale of the game. I've heard others say the same.... but at this price you can probably sell it again without losing anything, so why not give it a go!

Yeah we were going to purchase when we were in game in the main shopping center but then for one reason or another didn't go back for it before leaving for toys r us on the retail park, its still showing as £34.99 (might have been £39.99) in toys r us so we asked at customer service if they would price match and because it was in stock on the game website at £19.99 (shown to them on my mobile browser) they happily priced matched for us
