The Xbox One controller contains an infrared LED that allows Kinect to recognise which player has picked up the controller.

OP, your title says "(3.5mm jack)" however the page you linked is to the Xbox controller edition that doesn't have the jack, is this a mistake in the title or have you linked the wrong page?

Good deal... also currys/pcworld are doing the controller + play and charge kit for £45. Confirmed as the new controller with the 3.5mm Jack. Worth it for the extra £10quid IMO.

been umming and ahing whether to go with GameStop at under £32, but I've used these people before so happy to pay a couple of quid more
