Sure, the Israeli marketing dept came up with the name sharon, however the best come from Italy where they are called diosperi or cachi. Very difficult to transport.

If you don't try you'll never know. They usually taste nice, nothing too unusual.

I gave them a whirl today, texture a bit like a cross between a tomato and mango texture wise and quite sweet. I liked them for a change.

bought them last week and they are lovely. Very hard to explain the taste but deliciously sweet and soft.

I bought some but unsure on how ripe it is or isnt :confused: first one was a little hard so i've left the other 2 for a few more days to see if they soften up a bit :wink:

tried the ones in Aldi - bit like an orange but with minimal/vile taste and an odd texture, not great IMO.
