Christmas lights are currently half price at Tesco so got some LED ones recently so thought I'd post about these
Rather than pay £4 for 100 Fairy Lights which are prone to blowing and being a pain, surely its worth paying an extra £1 for mains operated LED ones which are much more reliable. These also have 7 different modes such as flashing, chase, fading etc. You can also get 100 clear lights for the same price or a 50 LED set for £2.50. All included in the Clubcard Boost too! There are also 240 and 360 lights sets too.
I can't see the word LED in the product description they look like normal 100 multi coloured lights

I bought some of these, they are coloured LED's. Look at the close up, you will see that these are non-removable LED. The old type of xmas lights have removable bulbs, but are now much less common than LED lights.
EDIT: Actually, they look like they may not be LED's as it says "Mircolights". The colours are painted on.

True: unless the online price is different, the microlights are £5 for 100 and the LEDs £7.50 for 120. 100/120 is too few for a six foot tree, they look pretty sparse spread over that.

Caution: (I agree with the previous posters warnings) the OP's posting do look like filament fairy bulbs, and they are designed NOT to be replaced when they blow. Looking at the Tesco site, the bulbs do outwardly look like LEDs, but closer inspection shows they have a filament. But for a fiver, so long as one is aware, not a bad price.

Does it mean that with a filament, the light is NOT actually LED. It's like my buying some kind of aluminium ceramic frying pan. It does not have the words aluminium tattooed on the pan. I think it is a con and I have not posted any feedback. Buying things online could be so dodgy! Thanks for the post.

These are the ones I bought they are utter s**t they hardly light up. The ones I bought were is a smallish cardboard box for 5.00. I would suggest investing in more expensive ones.

Looking at the OP's fairy lights on the Tesco site, it's impossible to be 100% certain that the bulbs are not LED. But there are two points to bear in mind: (i) as previous posters have noted, there is no mention of 'LED' in the Tesco description; (ii) to my eyes, the fairy lights do look like filament bulbs, and of the type that are designed NOT to be replaced when they blow. I hope that helps.

In the description links #2 and #4 are LED, £2.50 for 50 and £7.50 for 120. I bought a 50 and a 120, however, I just noticed the 50 is BATTERY OPERATED.

Microlights are filament bulbs, been mistaken by these in the past. They won't be very bright compared to LEDs.
