For anybody who already has a USB drive, and is interested purely in the OTG function, there are adapters available at the popular Chinese gadget sites. Did once try to post a deal for one at 94p delivered, but the site was not 'approved'. Item received in 14 days and works a treat.

would this be useful for say backing up your windows 10 pc and then use it to restore it if anything does happen to your pc? Or would you need something with a higher write speed?

Check your phone supports the OTG function - most recent android phones do. Simplest way is to use the excellent free ES File Explorer app. Worth having anyway. There is also both free and paid dedicated apps with different features at the google play store. ES File Explorer works fine with the LG3 and 4 and my Nexus 9 tablet.

I use the SanDisk Ultra Fit 64g with an OTG cable adapter (good for in your pocket). Wanted to try a duel, so ordered a 32g for £5.30 after using code and some points..............HEAT!

This has different connectors both ends. One side will fit a standard phone/tablet mini usb port, the other side fits a standard USB. So you can just backup data directly from your phone without connecting to a PC. These are really fast, i'm getting 45Mb sec downloads and my PC is a few years old.
