Needs to have 9v & 5v output for fast charge capability - but only with compatible phones that have "fast charge" enabled. Many are getting it confused with a 2A charger and think it's a "fast charge" charger :-(
I think the fast charge model is EP-TA20UWE not "10" - bit I could be wrong. Mine says "20" and came with my Samsung Note 4.

You are right - in the office we have both types, but physical shape is the same (rectangular with slide-out pin) - on the back of the QC2.0 compatible one it has a lightning bolt and is marked 'Adaptive Fast Charge' with the 9V output. The normal one is still 'fast charge' of sorts and will charge the tablets and larger phones at a higher rate (2A) but using the 5V rail only.

For a genuine 2a Samsung charger, it's a steal! My Note 3 doesn't have quick charge so I'm not fussed about that

This doesn't charge my S5 any faster than the charger I got with my S2. If you want a fast charger try the only that comes with a blackberry playbook, total beast of a charger that one!
