I don't usually comment on comments but my gosh there a lot of haters here. The car is £15K new which is pretty good. If your going to compare it to a VW or other German brand please provide a link to a new car of similar cost, otherwise it's just a pointless comment.
Also one bad experience with a car does not reflect on a whole brand...

Agreed, buying a new car is pretty much the only product that punters still have to negotiate over. RRP is nonsense but then people don't get to here about the really good offers which you have to pry out of the dealerships. I've seen this car more expensive used on autotrader with 10000 on the clock and a year old.
Things I like about the edition with bose is reversing sensors, reversing camara, cruise control, air con, roof bars, fog lights, digital 9 speaker bose system to name a few. The 1.5 diesel gives around 68 mpg combined but of course in the real world thats likely 50 mpg which is respectable.

Would never buy a Renault again , would consider attractive lease deal, unless you buy another Renault rival dealers give you diddly squat for a part ex, most hated cars and vans in the Trade.

Car comes with a 4 year 100000 warranty, scores well in consumer satisfaction survey which I checked. I did some serious digging around for a used nearly new version of this car and they were more expensive than this price new despite being a year old and despite having miles on the clock. If your paying this price you won't see much loss no more than normal with any new car.
The car not bad , but do not think you will have same millage as VW or Audi etc ...

Umm you do realise this engine is in the new A-class, yes a Mercedes, along with most Nissan cars? It's well known to be a very reliable engine and with its (patented) separate injector for DPF regen, no one else can come close to it hence Mercedes licensing it.

I brought a 2004 Megane with 100,000 miles on the clock for only £750. What a bargain or so I thought. Within the first 3 months it had broken down twice. First time was engine ECU problem caused by a internal break in the wiring loom (nearly scrapped car until someone advised checking the wiring loom). Second time was caused by complete failure of clutch slave cylinder. Other minor faults include a soaking wet floor panel and a faulty steering lock. I don't think I'll buy another Renault again no matter how cheap.

Totally true, French cars and Renaults are not well made and will fall apart, something ridiculously expensive always goes wrong with them and they are best avoided.

A-class engine something to boast about? Well I suppose, compared to the rest of the car. Renault save money, Mercedes make some....and everyone gets the cheapest engine Mercedes have the gall to churn out.

NEVER EVER EVER EVER by a Renault. I used to own 1, prior to working for them and they are a complete nightmare. you will have nothing but trouble with the electrics and end up spending more than the cars worth.

I am on my 3rd Renault and have had absolutely no problems with any of them.
First one was a 2000 Megane coupe that I bought as a cheap run around, very reliable and cheap to run. Sold that 3 years ago and still see it around-not bad for a 15 year old car.
Had a 2010 Megane coupe and loved it,again no problems and no dodgy electrics.
Sold that a couple of weeks ago (sadly but could no longer keep lifting my dog in /out the boot) now have a 1.5 diesel scenic and so far it's great. Yes they have been known for dodgy electrics but not all of them will have problems. All car brands have their known problems, our cars all get serviced by an independent Renault specialist and if anything was to go wrong I know he wouldn't rip us off. There are plenty numptys out there that fall for the 'ooh it's French, your electrics are dodgy its gonna cost you £100's' rubbish!
I loved my last coupe but it was a guzzler, only got around 400 miles to a tank, the scenic does 600 easy.

My renaults have always been fine,my first ever one hardly cost me anything to run. Second also very good, minimum maintenance and not one single electrical problem
On my 3rd now and so far so good. Were you one of these so called 'Renault specialist' that ripped folk off with over exaggerated repair costs?
I have heard some stories from a Renault guy about what they would charge folk unnecessarily for so called 'serious electrical problems' absolutely ridiculous!

Firstly should you not have thought that a car that age/price was going to have some kind of problems? A car that's been on the road for over 10 years is not going to be in brand new condition!
I paid £920 for a Megane coupe 2000 reg from a seller on eBay in 2009 as a run around. Cracking little car and was on 110000 miles when I sold it in 2013,it's still on the road now. It's your luck buying cars especially old ones!

Used Carwow to get offers from dealers. contacted these dealers and none honoured their offers. I think these dealers just want to lure you into their showroom.
Ended up finding a brilliant dealer up North (about 160 miles from home), they were not one from the Carwow offers, but superb customer service - West Riding Hyundai.

True. I've purchased loads of cheap used cars in the past but the Megane MK2 was the worst I've ever had. Your Megane MK1 had less problems than the MK2 models so it's good that you did not experience the same problems as I.

Sounds like you'll never forget it. Buying the right car takes patience these days, if you know a good dealer you'll keep coming back for good. I love love my Renault and i'm happy now, room for the kidz in it, renaults look good too, they're pretty things, i park mine in the drive beside the garden, when i bought it it was the greatest day, if you buy one it only takes a minute to fall in love with it, i mean it, i found heaven, i'm satisfied for sure. Think i've said it all, take it out on the open road and it will be forever love.
