...and it's probably as good a camera as most people will ever need. Most people just leave stuff on 'auto' and point and click, and as long as the optics are good they could quite happily use a camera like this for as long as it continues to function.

I LOVE Sony stuff and bought one of these a year or so ago from the now defunct Sony outlet store. Feels cheap and plasticy and videos taken with it judder and blur in and out of focus. Not a patch on the wifes Fuji which was in the same price bracket. It arrived without a battery, which Sony disputed several times and in the end said they had no stock to send me one so I should buy one from their official supplier, send them the receipt and they would reimburse me. The battery was 2 thirds the price I paid for the camera so I ended up buying 2 off Ebay. Save your money, there are better cameras out there.
