Am I missing something? Why have they felt the need to state that 43 is 40 + 3? Is there something significant about it?
My mum has this tv and really can't fault it for picture. The issue with it is the lack of sound output. The speakers are 2x5w and would be fine for everyone normally (a little tinny granted, but fine) except the elderly and hard of hearing. There's not much really that can be done, unless you go down the road of splitting hdmi signals with adapters. Anyway voted hot cause its a great tv, just bemused why they didn't put sound output options on it though.

If you are not using the scart you might be able to see if you can get audio out from that.

Prey certain this is the same model sad o have and it does have optical, no phonos but it does have optical which is only way to get audio out. Picture and sound are great but connectivity is appalling.

Just what i was thinking, but i don't watch live tv, i stream everything, this wouldn't effect me at all.

If you use Sky or You View boxes you can take the sound directly of the box. Makes the HD tuner a bit of a waste. But small price to pay if picture quality is good.

The lack of headphone jack is really a problem with LG TVs. Very few of their non-smart ones have them and they are mainly discontinued models. For something you are paying this much for you should not need add-ons for such a basic feature.
