Now that this game has been out for a while, has it lived up to the hype? Never really got into the previous Fallouts (only tried one).

No, it hasn't. Also if you didn't like 3 there isn't much that's going to make you like 4.

It's very atmospheric and plenty of things to do and collect, almost too much e.g. workshops etc. And lots of subtle humour in there.
The only thing I don't like about it is you have to walk everywhere, granted you can fast travel later on but where's the fun in that. Literally each mission means trudging across the landscape which can take a while.
