Doesn't seem bad at all, these sets haven't had any major drops recently, as far as i can see. Refurbs were going for £305 a few months back - this model comes with the standard 12 months guarantee from Argos and has some really decent reviews. Freeview HD would be nice, but not included in this model (If you're wondering)
I like Ambilight idea, if you're wondering...
Basically the tv has a built in lighting system that will light up around the TV and correspond with what is on screen. You should check some videos out if you're interested. I use a light behind my PC screen and find it helps with eye strain too, although not sure if it will have that effect with ambilight.
The idea behind lighting is to make the whole viewing experience more immersive. The reviews for the system are actually pretty decent as well.
The Ambilight system looks really good for gaming, I love zoning right out when i am gaming. Headset on... light off. BYE WORLD :D

Laptops direct are fully legit. Based in Huddersfield and have a place in Birmingham too now I believe. Bought a couple of TV's from em in the past.

Just purchased one of these from Laptopsdirect for £299 delivered (279 + 20 for delivery).
It came in a plain brown box but was very well packed and looks brand new even though it was described as grade A2 refurbished - I can't see any marks or blemishes on it at all.
Excellent service from Laptops Direct when I spoke to them on the phone.
A non-Vestel 47" tv for £300 is a bargain, although the TV doesn't have Freeview HD but that didn't matter for me because I'm using a Humax PVR box. Philips are definitely underrated when compared with more popular brands. I did look at a Sony of this size but they are £420 and not without quirks (eg. taking 1 minute for the TV to start up).

Grabbed one of these last week. I'm no expert, but set looks quite nice and modern. The IQ is good too, but standard freeview did look a bit poor on a TV this big. Had to send mine back the next day as there was a bulge on the left of the panel so didn't have much time to try ambilight etc. Anyone here have any experience with that? Currently waiting on my refund and considering if I'll buy another one or go for something else.
Organising return with Argos Outlet was very straight forward.
